We had the good fortune of connecting with Angelica Maria and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Angelica, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
It was the easiest way to legitimize my income. Social media is such a new industry and it’s often discredited and not taken seriously. Once I had enough platforms that I was making income from, I knew I needed to make my entrepreneurial career an official business.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I starting modeling online because no agency would accept me. I was actually told by a casting agent that I needed to lose 20 lbs. Growing my Instagram was fueled by the large amount of support my fans were giving me regardless of my size. You no longer need to be 5’10 and a size 00. The great part about Instagram is anyone with any look can make it in the industry with dedication and discipline. I was urged by my followers to start a YouTube channel. And I am proud of the 470,000 subscribers I have grown to in these past few years.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Visiting Orlando you have to go to at least one of the theme parks! So the first stop would be a day at Universal. And then spend the evening clubbing at City Walk. They have great dinner spots too. Orlando is tourist central so there are tons of activities from Mini Golf, to Escape Rooms, to Arcades, and of course the many amusement parks. And all these places aren’t just for kids! Adults can have just as much fun!

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Internet based businesses can be lonely. It’s great to have the support of other models and YouTubers who I can share ideas with and collaborate.
