We had the good fortune of connecting with Twyla and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Twyla, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
Every time I go out, I like dressing well and putting outfits together. Even when I bought a new dress, I like to change something about it. When I went to events, everyone would ask where I got my outfit. As I received feedback, I decided to create my own brand. I was confused at first, so it took me a while to start on my own and with my own resources as a 19 year old student.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
To get where I am today, it was not easy, and there is still a lot that has to get done in my journey. I’ve learned that the more I believe in my business the more it will work. An unusual lesson I’ve learned is that my thoughts have power, the more I think about something that is what I will attract. Also, the way I dress empowers me, and it should empower you too. I want the world to know that no one needs a special occasion to dress special and beautiful, I want you to remember from now on that you are the special occasion!

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I would first begin by taking them to Little Hen, and enjoying some rose petal pancakes. Then we would head to the beach to enjoy the sun, after that we go to my house. Then for lunch we head to Los Fuegos at Faena and enjoy some argentine empanadas, and filet mignon. After lunch, we head to a meditation and finally, for dinner we head to The Surf Club to have some lasagna and coconut cake.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I am grateful for having people in my life like my mother who always pushes me to believe in myself and think about the positive in every situation. I am also thankful for those close friends that with their advice they help me become a better person.
