We had the good fortune of connecting with Gabriela Pellegrini and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Gabriela, we’d love to hear about how you approach risk and risk-taking
I have always felt that the sky is the limit. I think as we grow older and more realities sink in, we get distracted from the magic we have inside of us. We let society, our family, friends, and the news scare us into the “right” career path or something that is going to make us the most money and feel safe. Risk is now the most avoidable concept. We can’t fathom risking making money, risk letting our family and friends down, and/or risk the lifestyle we are so accustomed to because it’s looked at so negatively. But why? Ego? On the outside, you have no risk, you live a normal life, have money to pay bills, and your family is happy with your life decisions, but you’re so unfulfilled. You feel there is more out there and you think of the future and one day you realize this is not how I’m spending the rest of my life. But how do you get out? You can’t just stop working. You’re making great money and your family would be so disappointed. It’s that moment where you take a risk in life. You chase your dream and do everything you have to, to make it work.

For me my biggest risk was becoming a realtor. I started with a career in finance. It was awesome! I was making great money and I knew it could only go up, but the work, the culture, and the people, wasn’t what I wanted. I was surrounded by mostly negative people, who were bothered to clock in and rushing to clock out. They would use the weekend to escape the last 40 hours they spent in the office, just to spend 2 days of being happy and then do it all over again. They showed me what likely my future would look like. I soon realized I had to get out. I buckled down and studied for my real estate exam and soon enough I was out showing the most beautiful condos in Miami. Everything did and still does feel surreal. Taking a risk is the greatest and best thing you can do in life. The universe will always have your back. I took a risk in myself, and it changed my life forever. Everyday I am grateful. I think I have the greatest job in the world. It never feels like work to me. I love to see the smile on my clients faces when they get the keys to their perfect home. It makes my job so fulfilling.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
Being a Realtor is more than finding homes for clients or the best marketing strategy for a listing. It’s getting to know your client, understanding their wants and needs and building a trusting relationship. I think what sets me apart from others, is my patience and love for what I’m selling. I never rush anything, work-wise, or in life in general. If you’ve worked with me, then you’ve heard me say, “What’s meant to be will be”. I feel that I owe my success to my clients who understand me when I say that. Finding the perfect home is by no means easy. Things happen especially in today’s market, so to have this never ending faith in me while I have faith that we will find you the perfect place is just the perfect recipe. I got to this point in my career by keeping the faith. When things got tough or I saw no progress I thought maybe this isn’t for me or im doing it wrong, or maybe its the wrong time to be a Realtor. All these thoughts came into my mind the first few months and just told myself, “Ya know what, its not going to happen over night”. And just like that, slowly but surely everything started falling into place. I was invited to join one of the top Real Estate team’s in Miami Beach and my first week closed on a deal in a building I only dreamed of working in. The main lesson I have learned, is that if you don’t believe in yourself then no one will. I want the world to know that im doing this because I love it and I LOVE Miami. I love selling what Miami has to offer: the tall skyscraper buildings, the beachfront condos, the golf courses, and the most beautiful restaurants. Waking up to sunshine and warm weather can change someones life drastically. I think everyone deserves to wake up happy. Life is too short, and I think everyone needs to live here at some point to experience how amazing Miami truly is!

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
If my best friend was visiting the first stop would be the South of Fifth neighborhood in Miami Beach. I would take them to lunch at my favorite restaurant Planta for the vegan sushi and delicious cocktails. Then I’d say grab your bikini were going to Nikki Beach! While we enjoy the sun we close our eyes and it almost feels like were at a beach party in the South of France

After a fun day at the beach we check into our hotel The W South Beach where we get dressed for a night out! Our first stop is the Setai for an amazing fire show while we enjoy some yummy bites. Next stop is a boat ride down the Miami River where we get off at Kiki on the river and feel like we are in Greece.

The list of fun things to do in Miami is endless. If your looking for a relaxing spa and golf weekend we have that. If you wanted to head to every hot night club and be arm length from some of the most famous Dj’s and rappers we have that too. If you want to sit on the inlet at one the nicest steak houses with an expresso martini, head to Smith & Wollensky’s. Miami has it all. Sun, the beach, the activities, the parties the art, the buildings, the people its all here.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I would like to shoutout my grandparents. They were the first realtors I knew, and have groomed me into who I am today. I would also like to thank my close friends. They are always uplifting, encouraging, and never loose faith in me. They motivate me to keep going when I have doubts. Thank you guys! <3
