We had the good fortune of connecting with Alexia Acebo and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Alexia, what habits do you feel helped you succeed?
Morning and nighttime routines. Although it sounds basic and rudimentary, as a health coach, these routines are some of the first things I work on establishing with clients because anecdotally, I’ve seen them transform my own life. And I don’t mean waking up two hours before the sun, prepping a month’s worth of meals, chanting to the sun, and journalling for 6 pages followed by an hour of meditative movement. I just mean something that you decide to do that builds trust with yourself right off the bat. And there may be some health benefits too. For me, it’s waking up and making my bed immediately, going to the bathroom and doing my morning skincare, then grabbing a big glass of lemon water and sitting outside to do a quick meditation, journal, and devotion. This is the morning routine lite as I like to call it- the bare minimum, and if I’m able to add something in for an extra boost, I will. With the same sentiment, at night I will put on my blue light blocking glasses, take an epsom salt bath with a candle lit, massage my legs while watching something mindless, and then get in bed to journal one thing I want to remember about the day and read my latest romance novel until I fall asleep. My primary career in performing keeps me stimulated until late in the evening so it takes me a while to wind down! Both of these practices, starting and ending the day, ensure accountability with myself as well as kickstarting processes throughout the day and night like healthy bowel movements and sleep that physiologically make me feel my best. Because of that, I can focus on my work, connection, and health, ultimately creating space for success.

I am both a performer currently with the Broadway touring company of Wicked as well as a small business owner of THE BKFST CLUB, a women’s wellness health coaching company. I feel like what sets me apart in both of my industries is that I’ve led with truth and love in pursuit of getting to where I’ve gotten thus far. In the performing business, I’ve walked through some of the hardest seasons of rejection in my life and had to navigate that which helped spur THE BKFST CLUB where I could honestly share my story and struggles with women everywhere in hopes of helping those going through the same. IN the midst of auditioning and ‘grinding’ in New York City, I battled disordered eating, irregular periods, acne, and resistance to weight loss but that journey is what sparked healing and ultimately, THE BKFST CLUB.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Drinks: The Broken Shaker in Miami Beach – has some of the best mixologists and the environment is cozy/beautiful Dinner + views: The Lido Bayside Grill at The Standard Hotel – amazing food by the water, one of the only restaurants directly on the water and it’s mostly locals. You can also spend the afternoon by the pool/spa/gardens
Dancing + live music: Ball and Chain in Calle Ocho – one of the oldest Cuban bars with salsa – a Miami staple
Ice cream post dancing + live music: Azucar Ice Cream in Calle Ocho – abuela maria flavor is *chef’s kiss*
Best tacos + speakeasy: Bodega Taqueria – eat some tacos and then get some drinks and dance in the speakeasy behind the taco truck (had to)
Best churros: Tequiztlan Restaurant and Tequila Bar

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
