We had the good fortune of connecting with Chrismar Almao and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Chrismar, what do you attribute your success to?
For me, the most important factor has been my perseverance, my passion, under any circumstance. I always pursuit my dream to be a great make up artist and share my knowledge and my love for this career with others.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
When I arrived five (5) years ago I didn’t speak English, so it was difficult at the beginning to continue with my passion as a make up artist and skin care esthetician  since I was struggling with homesick, missing my friends, my family, and my comfort zone. However, I decided to take the challenge to learn the language and start improving my knowledge in the field  acquiring some professional licenses. Therefore, I have been working as a make up artist in the US since a couple years ago either in private events or at Sephora.

I truly love what I do and who I became because I am able to make people confident with their beauty. I am grateful for my decision of not allowing myself to stop even though I was struggling with some “obstacles” which I overcame working hard and following my passion and dreams.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.

1. Visiting west coast beaches ,Naples, Ana Maria Island
2. Miami Restaurants, Astrid by Gaston, Carbone,Komodo
3. Delray Beach Downtown to walk around and hang out at some places such as  The Office and The Rosewater Rooftop
4 Magic Kingdom Park, Orlando theme parks

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My mom, is my support in everything that I try, in all my dreams, she pushes me to be the best in every step that I make. She was a single mom and she gave me all the opportunities to be here, and to complete my career and start my own business, even starting from zero in a new Country.
