We had the good fortune of connecting with Amatista Leon and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Amatista, what inspires you?
When I see a mom having a hard time, with sadness in her eyes, yelling and hurting to her kids for expected behaviors for their age. That breaks my heart, because I see myself reflected in them. If only I’d have had someone who would listen to me, understand me, support me and guide me, my motherhood would have been completely different. I had to figure out many things on my own and now my goal is that thousands of Spanish-speaking moms can reconnect with themselves and their children, live full and happy while enjoying their lives, their children and their motherhood. That motivates me to learn more and more every day and to share in a simple and practical way what biology, psychology and neurology explains.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I have developed a unique program for moms, in which we reconnect with the original essence of each woman, Who are you? What is the most important thing for you? What is your life purpose? And many more questions are discovered through an extraordinary process of recognition and healing at a conscious and unconscious level, which impacts the 4 areas of integral health (physical health, psycho-emotional health, spiritual health and relational health) and allows them to live their lives and their motherhood full and happy. At the same time, they are provided with daily tools to remain calm, educate with love and respect, and raise emotionally healthy children.

This has been the result of a great internal work and knowledge. I think that what has made the difference for me is having a deep conviction that my life and my family’s could be better, and that if I could change my story, you can do it too.

The 3 most important factors that will help you persevere are:

*Be clear about your why: What is your motivation to do what you do? In my case, it is healing the wounded woman of today and changing the lives of future generations. Recognize that violence is not acceptable under any circumstances and that if I were a little girl, I would feel very afraid and sad because the person I love and admire the most yells at me, rejects me, hits me, threatens me and makes me feel worthless and that I am not good enough or capable. This affects the behavior and relationships of the adult of tomorrow.

*Understand that you are 100% responsible for your results: No one is going to come to your rescue or to solve your life. No one has the power to ‘make you upset’, ‘make your life miserable’ or ‘make things go wrong for you’. That depends only on you. You can change your interpretation of the facts, you can change your actions and reactions, you can have the life you decide to have. Say goodbye to complaints and excuses.

*Failure is not an option: You only fail if you stop trying, as long as you fall and get back up, you have not failed, that’s just one more step you had to take to get where you want to, keep trying again and again until you get what you want. Every successful person has persevered despite adversity, and you can do it too.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
As a mom I would go to: *See the Guitar Lights and eat an ice cream at Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Hollywood
*Spend the day/do a BBQ at Haulover Park Bayside Picnic Area
*Visit Museum of Discovery and Science
*Take your kids to Sol Playce, Kids Hideout, Flying Squirrel Trampoline Park
*Do a BBQ/ride bikes/playground at Markham Park
*Spend the day at Tree Tops Parks
*Eat at Shinju Japanese Buffet
*Buy a Banana Split at Jaxson’s Ice Cream Parlor & Restaurant

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
First of all I thank God, my husband and my children, for being there with me, day after day, in my darkest and brightest moments.

There are many mentors and courses that have helped me become who I am today. But if I can only name a few, I would say that Carolina Villamediana, Alejandro Cardona, Margarita Pasos, Nadezda Vera, Fernanda Restrepo and Niños de Ahora have been a fundamental piece in my entire process.

And of course, a very special thank you to all the moms who have been part of my programs, for trusting in me and for their extraordinary life testimonies that fill my heart with joy.
