Meet Aric Slaughter | Fashion Runway Model

We had the good fortune of connecting with Aric Slaughter and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Aric, why did you pursue a creative career?
I’ve always had the passion for arts and fashion. Creatively as a child I always found different ways of expressing myself through drawing, music, theatre and the list goes on. I’m basically a jack of all trades thanks to my upbringing I’ve had the freedom and opportunity to learn and experience new things that I still carry with me till this day and fashion and modeling became my number 1 interest!

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I’ve always had aspirations of being on TV, acting, and especially modeling! I’ve been in the drama field early in my teens and pre teens attending a magnet program middle school; then going on to be in the drama club during my high school years which really help craft my experiences and desire to pursue the entertainment industry. I graduated from high school in 2014, and since then I’ve been growing and adapting into my own style and aesthetic, from then on I carried myself as an aspiring model.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Visiting Miami we would have to start from the beaches and work our way into the inner city(which is where I’m from).

I would start with a nice brunch on an early Saturday-Sunday afternoon at Big Pink on south beach, followed by a walk down the strip of ocean drive to catch the scenery and enjoy the views. Then we’ll have to go ride on the jet skis while we are on the beaches after the day starts to simmer down and the sun is setting we get ready for night life and you know Miami is home of the night life so there’s a plethora of clubs and bars to go to im the type of friend to hop around and have a ball the night is young and in Miami you’ll never sleep!

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I would like to give a special shout-out to my grandmother for easing me first and foremost but, for providing the wisdom and just loving and supporting me throughout my whole life. I couldn’t of been where I am today without her guidance!
