We had the good fortune of connecting with Audrey Keliehor and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Audrey, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
Audswimmers: Water Safety and Swim School was created because I saw a need for increased access and availability for swim lessons in South Florida. Through my experiences, I realized that many children and adults could not receive proper water safety education and swim training due to a lack of encapsulating swim programs. With my passion for swimming and teaching, I wanted to create a business that not only provides high-quality swim lessons and prioritizes water safety education for all ages but focuses on JOY and CONFIDENCE at the center of the lessons.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Audswimmers believes that every child deserves the opportunity to learn how to swim, regardless of their abilities or challenges. I, as the coach, understand that every child is unique, and I work closely with parents and caregivers to ensure that each lesson is personalized to meet the specific needs and goals of each child.

My commitment to inclusivity and diversity is at the heart of our company and will continue to develop specialized teaching techniques and strategies to help these children learn and thrive in the water.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I adore this question as a new Florida resident and my advice is the furthest thing from an itinerary. My favorite thing to do in South Florida is to drive around and see where I end up; whether it be a new park, a new coffee shop or just walking around surrounded by mural art, sculptures and so much culture.

Take a drive down A1A and there is too much for me to recommend my favorites.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My story starts with my family, the Keliehors. I could not have the love I have for swimming without their considerable support and guidance throughout the years. My entire family has been on the sidelines supporting my swimming career; they have always been my personal cheerleaders. Entrepreneurship can be a lonely road at times, so it’s essential to have a support system in place, but when I put my body in the water I hear my father’s words “You are a workhorse and not a racehorse”.

Audswimmers is a reflection of my personal journey and I have the hopes to improve the confidence of South Florida residents in and around bodies of water.
