Barbara Alfonzo | Integrative Health Coach & Yoga Teacher

We had the good fortune of connecting with Barbara Alfonzo and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Barbara, would you say you are following and pursuing your passion?
I am not pursuing my passion in life. My passion is to be married to a rich man and be a rich housewife so I can lay be the pool and fan my self. Instead, I’m spending nearly every waking hour of my life trying to learn how to wear so many hats. I have to be a writer, a marketer, a host, technical equipment operator, graphic designer, social media influencer, and subject matter expert… in addition to being a housewife. And somehow, this feels more fulfilling than pursuing my fantasy passion. Is it though?

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
What differentiates my business from others is… Me! My business is based around my life experiences and interests. As I have studied and learned, I have hand chosen the pieces that worked best for me. Often that came from knowing what my options were. I enjoying compiling information and sharing with women how to best get their hormones in alignment with their lifestyle. This has been a journey of trial and error as well as self exploration. The hardest part has been learning how to share my findings with others. I have had to learn so many things outside of my knowledge and comfort zone. When times get tough, I always remember that to be in business for oneself, we have to be willing to continually grow. Plus everything is figure-out-able, so I got this!

Any great local spots you’d like to shoutout?
Delray Beach’s Best Day! I love showing people around our village by the sea! We would start the day with yoga, outdoor, in the bamboo garden at Bamboo Garden Yoga. Then head to the Yaxche Tea Room for hot tea, savory soul food, and delectable baked desserts. A walk through the neighborhood will be fruitful in picking some coconuts, mangoes, and star fruit on our way to the beach. Delray’s Beach always draws a good crowd without getting too full. A chill vibe set to the backdrop of crystal clear water that is year round as close to perfect temperature as you can get. Walking back towards downtown after the beach we’ll again have to wander through the streets finding fragrant night jasmine and gardenias, as well as many cute little nooks perfect for photo-ops. Happy Hour in downtown Delray is a must! So many good ones to choose from. El Camino for margarita’s and tacos, or Salt 7 for key lime martini’s and sushi pizza are two of my favorites! What’s the perfect day without some dancing? I’ll always check out Honey, and definitely toss my hair at the O.G. That’s just a typical day in Delray Beach, depending on the day, you might catch a drum circle, farmer’s market, live music or art’s festival.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I want to shout out to my beloved rich-in-spirit husband. Whom has been my rock and behind the scenes collaborator. For always believing in me, supporting me, and loving me. I thank and love you.
