We had the good fortune of connecting with Christine Sanchez and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Christine, have there been any changes in how you think about work-life balance?
When I first began my business I had no balance what so ever. I was 100% determined and focused on building my business. I worked 10hrs a day 6 days a week. I barely spent time with my 2yr old baby for about 3-4 months. I worked so hard and so much my body couldn’t take it anymore and I ended up hospitalized for a week. I wasn’t taking care of myself and my health. I wasn’t eating properly I wasn’t sleeping properly I wasn’t exercising I wasn’t taking care of my mental health etc. It wasn’t until the COVID shutdown that I was actually forced to relax. I then began spending more quality time with my son. I began to workout I began to meditate and set a sleep schedule. Today I prioritize vacations and days off. Today I prioritize myself and my loved ones.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
As of right now I am working on a new big project for my business. After numerous requests from many IG followers world wide I have decided to create the online PINK NAILS OF MIAMI SCHOOL OF NAIL TECHNOLOGY!! With that being said I spend my days researching and learning how to build an online course. I am also learning how to be a marketer because selling something online is very different from selling a physical service. Not until recently I’ve decided to escalate my business and teach. My focus is on helping and supporting beginner and experienced nail techs globally. My IG account is all about pictures and tutorial videos. Thanks to social media like IG I am able to say I do spend a significant amount of time creating content as well engaging and contenting online. Aside from satisfaction it is my goal to improve the nail technology community by providing guidance and mentorship alongside education.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
My best friend is a mother just like me and would come for a long weekend with her daughters. Id pick her and her daughters up form the airport on Thursday and go to lunch at the standard.
later that night wed all go to bayside walk around and hop on the Ferris Wheel.
Friday we’d spend the day at Pintos Farm with the kids then by night hire a sitter and go out to Kiki one the river.
Saturday we will go walk around Lincoln Road go to the museum of illusions and take pics in Wynwood with all the beautiful art. Hire a sitter and go to dinner at Zuma.
Sunday we are definitely hitting up the Daer day club in the Hardrock. Then do dinner at the Council oak.
MY friend and her girls are back at the airport on Monday morning sad goodbye.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My journey began at Barrys Beauty Bar located in Brooklyn NYC. When I decided to pursue my nail career on a serious level I researched popular nail salons in my area, not only popular but also my style. I organized my binder with all my printed nail pics and called for an interview. Boy was I nervous for this interview because the work done by nail techs there was on a other level and very admirable, I was a beginner. Went on the interview and got hired. The owner Barry sat me at the nail able right next to him watched me work and guide me. Barry taught me so much. It was at this salon that I learned EVERYTHING from doing the acrylic nails to prices to designs and customer service. Thank you Barry for giving me the opportunity and having the patience to teach me the real deal nail stuff, things that nail school doesn’t cover.
