The most difficult decision I’ve ever had to make was leaving full-time employment and choosing to dedicate all of my efforts exclusively to my private practice in mental health therapy as well as my leadership consulting business. It was a personal decision rather than just a career decision, as I needed to prioritize my own well-being and find a better work-life balance. Like many of us, the COVID-19 pandemic gave me the time and opportunity to reflect, which revealed and clarified my personal values, making me realize the importance of being present in my own life. For 20 years we worked to create a successful luxury home building brand in the Hamptons, NYC and Florida. In 2018 I made the decision to leave to focus on family matters. The decision to leave my hometown was not made lightly. It required careful consideration of the opportunities that awaited me in the United States.
