We had the good fortune of connecting with Denise Lee and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Denise, what role has risk played in your life or career?
Life is all about taking risks. If I would’ve never took that first leap to make my first hair bow, Bubblegum’s Creations would not be what it is today. All of the crafts and designs I have done, all began with someone asking me to create something I have never made before. It has always been a risk, more so now, because there are so many people doing the same creations as myself, however we all have our own way of doing it. The goal is to continue to learn and improve daily and continue to take risks that will essentially continue to grow your business.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
At Bubblegum’s Creations Headquarters, I create an array of custom items. Starting with t-shirts, graphic designs, business stationary, digital flyers and so much more. What sets me apart from other businesses like mine is that I have a passion for what I do. It’s not all about the money for me. I am very affordable. I love to work with startup businesses. Many people want to be their own boss. They have their ideas, but not all have the funds. When I was first started with the idea of having my own brand, I didn’t know anything about graphic design. I was quoted over one hundred dollars to create my logo. As a startup business, we sometimes don’t have that in our budgets. Therefore, I decided that I wanted to help startup businesses and create affordable logos and stationary that would fit their desired budgets. I believe being that way with my customers has gotten me to where I am today professionally. By no means has it been easy, but every obstacle comes with a lesson. We learn how to make it better and continue to strive for greatness. I’ve learned that in order for my business to strive is to be consistent, always stay professional regardless of whom you are doing work for, and most importantly, never lose myself in the process. Sometimes we just have to sit back and recalculate, regroup, and refocus to make sure we are moving in the right direction. I want the world to know that Bubblegum’s Creations is here for the long run. Our goal is to one day own a storefront. As we continue to grow, we will make sure to keep our integrity, innovation, and of course our love for our crafts and our customers. Our story is just beginning,

Any great local spots you’d like to shoutout?
My best friend name is Beatriz but we all know her as “Beba” which means baby girl in Spanish. Beba currently lives in West Palm Beach which is about 45 minutes to an hour away from my home in Miami. If Beba and I made plans to hangout for the week we definitely would check into a hotel near Miami beach. Beba and I love the sea. We have traveled to Bimini together twice already. The hotel I’d choose for us would be Fountain Bleu. There, we would relax by the pool in a cabana and tan the day away along side some margaritas, frozen daiquiris, and of course music. We would ride jet skis, get massages, and enjoy some pampering by visiting their spa. Since we are both from Miami, we know most of the places down here. We would go on a mini food tour and visit some of our favorite spots like Tap 42, Yardbird, Joe’s Stone Crab, Bombay Darbar, Rusty Pelican….too many to name. We would take a drive to see the famous Miami Skyline, continue to Bayside and see the American Airlines Arena, home of the Miami Heat, then drive south to South Pointe Park and see the cruise ships sail away, and then drive a little west to Wynwood Walls to see the local art & museums. There is so much to see in Miami that one week would never be enough, especially when we are together.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
At the end of the day, I wouldn’t be where I am today if it weren’t for my customers. My old customers, my new customers, everyone that I have come in contact with. Every person that I have had the pleasure to create something for, I have always learned something new in the process. Whether it was new technique, a new design, even a new program, I wouldn’t have learned those things if my customers didn’t have faith in me. Sometimes I take orders with my eyes closed, not knowing what it may entail but through it all I have learned so many things that I would’ve never fathomed I’d be able to do.
