We had the good fortune of connecting with Dinah Toussaint and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Dinah, we’d love to hear about how you approach risk and risk-taking.
Taking risks is truly essential especially in a business field. It forces us to learn & grow whether we lost or won from it. Without it we’d all just remain in the same spot & still doing the same things. I also feel like that’s what makes life exciting because we’re all always curious as to what awaits on the other side.

What should our readers know about your business?
My name is Pearls, I’m a 21 year old hairstylist in Broward county. I am a black owned business! At a young age I’ve always had a passion for running a business and being self employed so I decided to turn my talent into a business. Like many other people, I faced a lot of challenges starting my business and also running it. I never had no one to teach me the proper steps to take and maintain a business so I had to learn a lot of things the hard way. Going through those phases however did teach me how to love & value it a whole lot more. What set me aside from others is my determination to want to be a leader & to want to create new things that no one has thought of such as hairstyles, products, etc. Overall, the most I’m proud of would be how far I’ve come and how much I’ve grown. I’m proud of all the adversities I’ve overcome because in the end it taught me a lot that I probably wouldn’t have learned if I didn’t go through it. I’m very thankful for God, my clients and all the support I receive, without them I wouldn’t have gotten this far.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
On the weekends, The best spots that me and my friends would go out to eat at are like restaurants in brickell or even on south beach but we’re girls so I couldn’t forget to include how we love to shop. We’d go to shop at bal harbor mall where they have all the exclusives. For hanging out, we’d go jet skiing in Miami, bowling at a late night bowling alley club or even do activities like the escape room. Then once weekdays are back we’re stuck on disc using ways to improve our businesses.
