Meet Lynn Lessell CHWC, CLC, BBA | The Identity Coach

We had the good fortune of connecting with Lynn Lessell CHWC, CLC, BBA and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Lynn, how has your work-life balance changed over time?
Work-life balance. It’s something I regularly hear many people striving for. For much of my life, I wasn’t sure it was possible. For much of my life, I didn’t think I had options; therefore, much didn’t seem imaginable.
When you believe that you must fulfill the expectations others have of you at work or home, over time each expectation can become a bar on the jail cell you lock yourself up in.
When you believe that you have to accept the responsibility for everything and others as a priority on your everyday list, it can feel like there’s never time for you and you can begin to forget what that looks like. You can become stuck and yearn for work-life balance.
So, let’s take a look at work-life balance. Is it possible? I believe yes if you look at it more realistically. When you think about balance, balance alludes to equal parts. How is your day divided? Are you at home the same amount of time that you’re at work? How much time do you allot at the gym, with your friends, with your family, on vacation, spiritually, or alone for some “ME” time? The list can go on and on, so how can you balance unequal parts?
This was where I got stuck. I’d ask myself, “If I never have enough time in a 24-hour day, how can I balance everything especially since work is where I spend most of my time?”
Have you ever asked yourself this question?
Okay, so I’m sure by now you’re saying to yourself, “How did she figure this out? I want to know how!”
The answer is not as easy as it sounds but it’s possible.
First, you have to stop ignoring yourself and make some “ME” time a priority. Start small. Things won’t change overnight. You have to create a new habit, probably the hardest thing of all to do.
Second, you have to examine each area of your life and determine what quality time looks like in each area. If you’re not sure what that looks like, ask yourself what an ideal day would look like if you could ——- (fill that in) in each area Imagine there’s nothing to stop you, that anything is possible.
What would an ideal workday look like?
What would an ideal evening at home look like?
What would an ideal romantic evening look like?
What would ideal family time look like?
What would ideal “ME” time look like?
There are no limits to your imagination. Once you start answering these questions and more for every area that feels like it’s lacking, you can begin to understand what quality time in that area can look like for you. The answer isn’t the same for everyone. YOU make a difference.
I never believed it was possible and I’ll admit I didn’t achieve where I am today completely on my own. I searched for the right person to help me. I had someone to nudge me in a different direction to get out of the funk and begin to change my impossible thinking. We all need support. The magic happens to achieve the balance when you begin to prioritize yourself and ask these two questions; “what do I want at this moment?” and “Who do I want to be?” Because of what I experienced in my journey and discovering that anything is possible, my mission is to help others in a way that I wish someone could have helped me long ago.
You can feel balanced and happy. Most of all, you require “ME” time! It’s a necessity for a balanced life. If you’re feeling like you can’t do this alone, that’s what I’m here for. You’re never alone and opportunity for possibility is out there. You just have to look for it.
When you achieve the quality of life you desire, you’ll feel that balance. It’s not about equal parts, it’s about determining what you want it to look like. You get to choose. It’s your life.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
Itz Why® LLC got its name from my belief that once you reveal the inner power of your true identity it fuels your personal ‘why’ which should be the foundation of everything you do for success. It sounds simple yet it’s more complex than most of us realize and it’s vital to get this message out there.
As the Identity Coach, one thing that sets me apart from other coaches, I believe, is what I like to refer to as my “Spidey sense”. I’ve always had this innate ability to hear layers below the layers near the surface of what someone says to help them. I’m not clairvoyant just a fine-tuned listener so I hear the things that are deeply buried and ask the right questions that provide the door that opens to a file that’s been stored long ago and possibly forgotten.
I use a customized technique within my coaching that creates a trusted bond with anyone I work with. That comfort level becomes a priceless tool that invites the client to explore inward and reveal what they didn’t know they didn’t know about themselves.
Clients thank me for changing their lives in remarkable ways. The truth is they’re simply experiencing the self-awareness that may have been ignored for a while.
As a coach, I’m known for transforming lives. As the founder of IPP™ Inner Power Partners, I’ve been told I’m revolutionizing the networking industry.
All I know is I believe becoming who you want to be and connecting your most authentic self to the way you build relationships and conduct business can lead to infinite opportunities for less stress and success.
What was your biggest challenge?
The biggest challenge I faced was stress. Stress continuously was playing “whack-a-mole” with my life ( remember that carnival game?). I felt it at almost every age and every stage of my life.
Was it easy, you ask? Not at all! So, how did I overcome the challenges?
Simply said…I hit rock bottom- more than once. The chronic stress I experienced from believing I had to ensure everyone else’s happiness was poisonous and it was unknowingly impairing my health. The very last time I hit the lowest I’ve ever been, the only way back up was to ask myself some really hard questions and do something I had never done in my life- put myself first!
The hardest questions I had to ask myself were who I wanted to be and what I wanted which is how I know these are the questions anyone needs to as themselves.
We can’t change anything or anyone around us. We have to make the change from within and find our true identity. That change eventually can restore us to who we are deep down to allow us to learn how to defuse the anxiety.
What I’m most proud of is my story from beginning to end both personally and professionally- it’s all connected. One couldn’t exist without the other. It’s about connecting to who you are deep down with less stress.
It’s about not letting anything or anyone cause you to ignore any part of yourself because when you allow that you can get very lost.
I’m often asked about the Itz Why logo. “Is that a like helix or DNA?” YES! If you’re asking why- the answer is this. DNA is the foundation of our physical makeup and I believe your personal why is the emotional DNA of who you are and the foundation of your success.
It’s about not letting anything or anyone cause you to ignore any part of yourself because when you allow that you can get very lost.
Until you feel connected to your “WHY”, your emotional “DNA”, you may not feel clear about the foundation on which to build your best choices.
Always be who you want to be in all areas of your life, that one person you love being and you’re setting yourself up for SUCCESS and less stress!
If you’re not sure how to go about it, that’s what I’m here for. “Itz Why” I became a coach!

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I love living in Florida and living my life like a local tourist!
I like to take a drive to a favorite spot so I can feel like I’m the one on vacation. I like going to the Harbor Beach Marriott for the day. It has a private beach and we sit at the outdoor ocean-view bar for lunch or dinner watching the ocean in its glory. I also enjoy going to the Wyndham Deerfield which is right on the beach by the pier! I enjoy their Patio Bar & Grill for some small bites. It faces the beach so I can listen to the sound of the waves and watch them crashing into the sand.
We often go to watch the moon rise, yes the moon! If you haven’t done it, you should!
Another great spot is Marco Island on Florida’s southwest coast! The sand is white, the air breezy, and the ocean has a different personality than the east coast beaches. Marco Island has a small quaint village to explore where you can truly feel like a local tourist!
For great Italian food, you can go a bit more exotic to Josephine’s on Federal Highway in Boca Raton or casual at Sal’s Ristorante at the Garden Shops in West Boca Raton. It feels like a bit of New York cuisine.
I love Sushi and there are so many great places, all with a different flair; Rise Sushi has a delicious hot menu in addition to its sushi bar options and outdoor seating on a lake. It’s a serene atmosphere. Ganzo Sushi is located in the Delray Marketplace and has its unique selection of Sushi rolls and hot items with a great atmosphere to hang out with friends. Skyfin Restaurant is just a mile down the road from us and has the best sushi we’ve discovered recently! Another place to experience a great sushi lunch is Morakami Gardens in Delray Beach. Now that’s an experience that makes you feel like you’ve left home! It’s impossible not to relax and unwind while you’re there amongst nature.
There’s no lack of good food in Florida. We’ll drive three hours to Harry’s Seafood Bar & Grill for a taste of New Orleans or 30 minutes to an ideal local spot, the best Cajun cooking next to NOLA, is Shuck n’ Dive in Ft, Lauderdale!
It’s not all about the food here in South Florida. It’s about the weather and the ambiance too. You can’t match it!
All that being said, I like being a kid and where can you best do that- Disney World, where the magic is endless and so are the number of parks. Being a local tourist is by far the best life!

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
That’s a tough question since I can’t name everyone. I’ll dedicate this to my sons, my mentors Ron Klein and John McDonald, and most of all to my Inner Power Partners community. To the people who believe in me the most and to my best friend who has supported me through more than I can mention in this brief space.
