We had the good fortune of connecting with Aadya Chaudhary, Ayushi Patel, and Harshita Chintapudi and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Aadya Chaudhary, Ayushi Patel, and Harshita Chintapudi, what inspires you?
The young girls we’ve had the opportunity to meet and learn from. Through their determination and commitment to equality and empowerment, these girls endlessly fuel our drive to continue bringing resources and opportunities to individuals around the world. Our chapter leaders are some of the most inspiring individuals we’ve ever met, combatting daily struggles at home and continuing to bring opportunity into their community regardless of societal challenges. This bravery and advocacy keeps us going and only strengthens our drive to help those around us.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
Our work relies on and around our uEmpower butterflies. Through expanding our team we have an expanded understanding of the difficulties our girls experience from both society in general and at home. These factors limit their ability to educate themselves and potentially aim for greater goals. Thus, much of our work has been grounded on that knowledge which has pushed us to introduce our members to a variety of powerful women, each with diverse backgrounds.
The industries of our uEmpower mentors vary from STEM, film, arts, and more through our initiative the “Connect Series” where we interview women leaders on their journeys, challenges, and applicable advice. We’re also currently working on the uEmpower Dear Butterflies Podcast to spark conversation on different topics and recently began our Butterfly Blog where young girls can submit their pieces for publication!

Our entire team is incredibly passionate about bringing representation to young girls as this representation is something we would have loved to see in our middle school classes and even now as high schoolers who are finding their purpose. On our executive team, we have an amazing interview production director, Laura Morato Martin, and incredible directors of graphic illustration, Enya Liu and Vaishnavi Kuppala who work so hard to make this impact a possibility with us. We hope to help young girls find their purpose as well and strive to succeed in their passions.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
An amazing place to check out is Wynwood Walls – It’s always changing and a super fun time! And a meal at Bayfront is a must when in the Miami area – so many different shops and cuisines!

Of course when you’re in Miami, you have to go to one of the many beaches around the area (beaches like no other)!

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
We wish to dedicate our shoutout to all the incredible individuals who have supported us from the very beginning of uEmpower. A huge thank you to our school’s principal Dr. Kassandra Fried for being our very first connect event guest, the first mentor for the uEmpower community. Dr. Fried, you allowed us to take that first step and take a leap into this journey. Thank you to all of our uEmpower mentors: Dr. Aruna Badiga, Maggie Wall, Allison Storey, Smiti Bangarwa, Amy W, Elise Pham, and so many more. Thank you to our global ambassadors that believed in us and our mission: Miss Teen USA UmaSofia Srivastava and Miss Remaja Jawa Naya Triesha. And we are so grateful to our entire community of research specialists, podcast team, local ambassadors, chapter leaders, organization partners, and our butterfly members for spreading the message and truly working to make a difference through this platform. You all inspire us each and everyday to bring the best to the uEmpower community.
