We had the good fortune of connecting with Aaliyah Pernell and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Aaliyah, how has your work-life balance changed over time?
I think the key to balancing work and your business is having good time management skills and also being organized . Organization is key. I set alarms for when I want to post content and I use my down time from work to think of ideas and create content. For someone who works a 9-5, in school and running a business I think I’m doing a pretty good job at balancing.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
What set me apart from others is that no matter what’s obstacle is in my way I am going to push through it. I am most proud of me going back to grad school so I can open up more opportunities for myself . Was it hard to get where I’m at today professionally? I don’t think so if you got the knowledge and skill and tone could do it . What lessons I learned along the way is that it’s okay to outgrow people and people opinions don’t really matter especially if your brand is your representation. I want the world to know that my brand will be something big and if you don’t believe now , soon you will .

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Me and my friends are foodies. So wherever there is good food and alcohol we are there. The beach would definitely see us and a nice lounge to just chill and vibe. If anyone visiting South Florida I definitely think they should check out Casa Sensei which is a great restaurant, Kaluz or Morton’s . Those are my favorite top 3 restaurants down here . Fort Lauderdale beach is the best to relax and drink or maybe Haulover beach if you feeling a little frisky! Hahaha
