We had the good fortune of connecting with Abel Sanchez and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Abel, how did you come up with the idea for your business?
It actually happened quite organically, born out of my IG @Miamistadium I ended up creating an original line of merch that reflects my page’s “Where history and culture collide” philosophy.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I’m not an artist per se but im artistic enough and have a good sense for Miami style and culture. My drip is highly detailed, historically accurate and all original. Those three elements set The Miami Stadium Collection apart. Blessed to be in my own respective lane and that’s what im most proud of along with the fact I always try to come from a very authentic place. TMSC is a real local brand devoid of all the usual “305” cliches. At the end of the day consistency truly is everything.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
So much to do at all hours in the MIA. I’d keep it local af and take them everywhere from Club Deuce and Flanigan’s to The Corner, Steve’s Pizza, La Sandwicherie etc.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
The entire City of Miami and all communities within deserve much credit for riding with and supporting the vision. None of this happens without them. My guys at Cushy Gigs who I collab with bring my vision to life, from my designs to printing. Shoe Gallery Miami as well, they are truly ground zero for the culture in and I’m honored they’re the only shop in Miami to carry my drip exclusively.
