Meet Abigail Morales | Contemporary Artist

We had the good fortune of connecting with Abigail Morales and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Abigail, why did you decide to pursue a creative path?
I chose to pursue an artistic career because I love being able to portray my everyday thoughts through a form of art, whether it’s a painting, sculpture or photograph. I like to experiment with different materials and mediums as well as feeling my pieces therefore becoming one with them. I enjoy building, breaking, mixing, playing and being able to manipulate various objects into different states to create art and have each piece tell a story.

Please tell us more about your art. We’d love to hear what sets you apart from others, what you are most proud of or excited about. How did you get to where you are today professionally. Was it easy? If not, how did you overcome the challenges? What are the lessons you’ve learned along the way. What do you want the world to know about you or your brand and story?
Nothing great comes easy and you can’t control what challenges life throws at you, but what you can control is your mind and the way you perceive a situation. Every day is a new day, and you just have to take each day as it comes. My work is a reflection of my environment as well as my thoughts and the colors I use for each piece represent the emotions I’m feeling during that period in my life. I’m most excited about waking up every day to do what I love and I want my work to be relatable and timeless.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
If I had to shoutout all the people who’ve inspired and supported me along this journey, I would be writing for days! But I do read quite a bit and a couple books that have transformed my mindset as well as my work ethic would be The Artist Way by Julia Cameron, A New Earth by Eckhart Tolle, Maximum Achievement by Brian Tracy and Outwitting the Devil by Napoleon Hill, just to name a few.
