We had the good fortune of connecting with Adam Duckworth and we’ve shared our conversation below. Adam is the President & Founder of Travelmation.
Hi Adam, is there something that you feel is most responsible for your success?
The most important factor behind my success and the success of Travelmation is simple: sometimes the stars align and the right people, the right leaders, sit around the right table at the right time to make the magic happen. That happened for us at Travelmation. When our organization started to grow, it was surrounded by some of the best leaders I had ever seen. Without that, we would not have thrived.
Travelmation now has over 1800 travel agents around the country helping to create unforgettable memories for families. Our goal is to make travel easy and stress-free for our clients. We want everyone to have an opportunity to get out there and see the world!
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I believe what sets us apart in the travel space is innovation. When we created Travelmation, we aimed to be the very best travel agency on the planet. We wanted to be generous with dollars, develop a supportive group of agents and allow them to market themselves in new and exciting ways. And we backed all of that up with sales. It’s one thing to say, “Look at us – we are new and exciting”. It’s a completely different thing to say that and then prove it with revenue and sales. That combination got us noticed by suppliers and agents so we could continue to grow every day.
Our agents work hard to provide the best value possible for their clients. We can often provide extra discounts and hidden gems that many people could never find on their own.
Travelmation also puts a big focus on branding. Our name gets attention almost immediately as well as our catchy logo. We make it a priority to be modern, clean, and crisp. We stand out in the travel space for being the company that is different – a breath of fresh air.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I love starting the morning with a hot cup of coffee at Under the Mango Tree, followed by shopping at the Miami Design District. There is so much to see and do at this upscale location. After that, I would hit the road and head to Boca Raton. My latest must-do is a meal at Gallaghers Steakhouse. New York has come to South Florida and I’m a huge fan!
Some other top recommendations: ice cream at Kilwins on Las Olas in Fort Lauderdale, a nightcap along the Intracoastal Waterway and, if time permits, rent a boat and cruise the canals. It’s the perfect way to spend the day!
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My shoutout goes to my wife, Katelyn Duckworth. She gives me endless support and is the person who keeps our family running so smoothly. I cannot thrive professionally without her being there every step of the way. She inspires me and keeps me centered and focused.
