We had the good fortune of connecting with Adama & Gregory Chisley and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Adama & Gregory, as a parent, what have you done for you children that you feel has had the most significant impact?
The most important thing we’ve done as parents, is working on ourselves mentally, physically, and spiritually. Sometimes as parents we forget, or push our mental, physical, and spiritual well being to the side so that we can cater to our children. We want our children to see us at our very best. Healing from childhood traumas or past relationships also help form a better structure for our children. Learning to love, spending time to heal, and building a strong foundation has a big impact on how our children will grow, learn, and love.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
Chisley’s Scrub Boutique is a medical scrub apparel company inspired by two healthcare professionals who saw a need in the scrub wear industry. Gregory is a licensed Pharmacy Auditor, and Adama is a Registered Nurse. We offer affordable, comfortable, and fashionable scrub wear, and a variety of medical accessories. Our vison is not only to provide outstanding customer service to our clients, friends, and family members, but to provide elite medical scrub apparel for all healthcare, cosmetology, and fitness professionals around the world.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
One of our favorites place to eat at is Certified Pies, they are the only Black owned pizza company we have in the state. We would then visit downtown Little rock, AR as it is one of our most popular places to go for a nice walk, shop, and entertainment. If were going to hang out, or go out for drinks we would definitely hit up the Status Playground Bar. The Status Playground Bar is also Black owned and they have amazing food, drinks, games, basketball, and much more. Arkansas is known for it’s outdoor scenery, that’s why they call it the Natural State. Arkansas has several places to go fishing, golfing, hunting, and hiking.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
We would like to give recognition to a very good friend of ours Dana Smallwood. She is a great friend of ours whom we met online and has become like family to us. Dana is a hard working parent, woman of God, and very professional business woman. She’s started her own CNA/CPR certification school called Immaculate Healthcare Professionals located in North Little Rock, AR. She goes above and beyond for her students and business partners. Dana is also partnered with Chisley’s Scrub Boutique, as we provide her students and teachers with elite uniform apparel from our scrub company.
