We had the good fortune of connecting with Adara Cox and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Adara, can you talk to us a bit about the social impact of your business?
The whole idea behind Adara Affirms, Healing + Community for Women, is to provide young women with inspiration to walk into the highest versions of themselves, as they are embarking on their healing journey. The healing journey is not easy, and I, myself, know first-hand what the waves of healing are like. The healing journey can be a lonely place, especially, because many people may not understand how to support you while you are finding yourself again.

Adara Affirms came into fruition as I began journaling again while I was in the early stages of my healing process. I had so much to say through my writing, and I knew that other women needed to hear from someone who they could relate to: another young women learning to grow into her highest version of self.

Adara Affirms provides young women with a brave space to walk confidently into their identity, outside of whatever trauma or situation that hindered them from expressing themselves, fully, I hope when women engage with the Adara Affirms content, that they too, can envision themselves as healthy, confident individuals who can overcome anything that might try to dim their light. Women are powerful beings, and sometimes, it takes healing and growing into one’s true self, to see how powerful they truly are.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
As a writer and content creator, I consider myself a natural creative. What I write comes from the deepest parts of myself, and I share what I feel is necessary. I write about my healing journey and what I have been learning along the way. I do not consider myself a coach or any title close to that. I just write what seems to be on my heart and share it with those who need it.

Writing has always been a huge part of my life growing up. I did not start taking it serious until 2019; and in 2020, I decided to write with the intention to heal. My writing became much more significant than I would have ever imagined. I truly saw myself transforming and growing with every journal entry that I wrote. When I saw the growth come to fruition in my life, I knew that I had to share my wisdom with others, specially women, embarking on a similar journey as me.

Something I found very challenging with brining Adara Affirms into fruition, was really finding my placement. My original idea of Adara Affirms did not work out as planned because I rushed the process instead of taking my time. I tried to make Adara Affirms at first about empowering all people of color, but I realized a few months into my first launch, that was not what I was supposed to be doing with the Adara Affirms community/business. So, I took my website and Instagram posts down to re-brand. With doing that, going backwards, helped me find my way to helping women grow into their highest versions of self by sharing my journals, posting short videos on Instagram, and just journeying alongside them.

What I’d like to offer is that if you are wanting share your creativity or brand yourself a certain way, do not rush the process. Allow the process to guide you. It’s so easy to get caught up in the motions of wanting to keep up with everyone, but the reality is, all our paths are unique and no two paths are alike.

Adara Affirms, Healing + Community for Women, was created for young women needing a healing community, specifically, to encourage them to walk confidently into their identities. Healing is not easy and not everyone will understand the waves that come with the healing journey. Adara Affirms provides a space for young women to discuss everything Healing, Love, Philosophy, and Spirituality. The goal in healing and becoming is not to search for a specific destination, but to continually become the highest version of self, your Goddess-form: the form that you desire to embody.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
If my best friend was coming to visit, I would definitely take her to my favorite restaurants and clubs. We would most definitely would go to my favorite brunch spot, Little Hen, because their food is so good and aesthetic is amazing. For drinks, we probably would go to happy hours in Las Olas or downtown Fort Lauderdale for sure. I do not necessarily have a favorite drink spot , as I bar hop when I do go out for drinks.

For exciting places to check out, I would say that the Morikami Japanese Park and Museum and Super Blue Miami are my top locations to have a great time. I am really into art and creative places, so those came to mind, immediately.
