We had the good fortune of connecting with Added Color and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Added Color, how do you define success?
For Added Color, we define our success by the ways our music can impact others. Ideally, our music would be reaching as many people as possible, and playing huge shows is a big part of that side of success…but that’s not the only way we’d define it. As an independent band, we feel successful already that we get to tour both nationally and internationally, and most importantly, when we see and get to talk to the fans at our shows. Hearing about how our music, or a particular lyric, has helped someone in a dark place, or made them feel less alone in this world is the ultimate sign of success. Our music covers a lot of emotional space, and goes to some dark places…places we’ve all personally been, so to know that sharing those experiences and emotions through our music can help others is truly a dream come true.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
Added Color is a Brazilian-American rock band from Brooklyn, New York, with a message of empowerment and the muscle to bring the message home. We are currently most excited about our upcoming debut album, entitled “Looking For You”, which will be released on Sept 30th. The ten song LP is the culmination of a few years of writing, touring, and refining our unique sound. It hasn’t been easy, but we’ve learned along the way that the music always comes first. We just want the world to know that whoever you are, you bring something special and unique to the table, and you should be yourself, no matter what.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
We would take them to Fat Cat and Smalls to check out some live Jazz, and just walk around the West Village and Williamsburg to check out all the bars and restaurants.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?

We’d like to shoutout Johann Meyer who is a brilliant sound engineer and co producer of our upcoming album. He helped shape our sound and translate our ideas in the studio
