Hi Agranco Corp. USA® &, how does your business help the community?

We like to say that Agranco Corp USA^® improves the food we eat and Earth we inhabit through our animal feed additives and bioremediation product.

We provide natural alternatives to antibiotic growth promoters for swine, poultry, cattle and aquaculture (farm-raised shrimp and farm-raised fish), using unique combinations of enzymes and probiotic blends, high-binding mycotoxin adsorbents, and proprietary microencapsulation technology to deliver essential nutrition to improve the animals’ health. And to mitigate the environmental impact of animal farming, our late founder, Dr. Jose E. Ferrer, developed Oxynova^®, a powerful bioremediation product that breaks down organic matter (think: uneaten food, animal excrement and human biowaste) by accelerating the decomposition process and reducing the biological oxygen demand (BOD) of the affected environment. Oxynova has proven to reduce ammonia, nitrate, and other toxic gases, as well as hydrocarbons (including petroleum), phosphorus and other algae-feeding nutrients, and instead promote an oxygen-rich (aerobic) environment.

Our products are used worldwide, mainly in commercial animal farming throughout Asia, Central and South America. That said, in the last few years, the use of Oxynova^® has been adopted locally in Miami and the surrounding municipalities, in the waste industry – on landfills and in wastewater treatment plants. On one local landfill, a daily application of Oxynova at the end of the dumping day has improved odor conditions so notably (as an added byproduct of the remediation), that the neighborhood foul smell complaints dropped more than 40%. Working with local WWTPs, Oxynova has helped reduce the demand on the plants, allowing them to work more efficiently with less electricity use (for the blowers and oxygenators), lowering the plants’ energy costs. Like a vitamin, it also helps maintain the plants, cleaning them from the inside out, helping abate any catastrophic failure like pipe breaks, etc.

Next, locally, we’d like to expand Oxynova^® to stormwater management practices…whatever we can do to treat, remediate and clean our runoff and stormwater before it hits the bay. If we can prevent any future fish kills by ensuring the water that flows into the bay is cleaner than it currently is, we’ll continue to make an impact.
