We had the good fortune of connecting with Agustina Dapolito and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Agustina, what do you attribute your success to?
In my opinon the most important factor of the success of Tatore is that people can identify who the owners is and we are always present on site. They can reach us always. Most of our clients have our cel phones, this helps us generate a relationship with them. They feel like going to a relatives home. During the Pandemia , many clients call us , and ask us how we were doing and order food from us, since they want our bussines to stay safe. A close relationship with our clients make the brand safe.
Another factor that helped the success is the bond we generate with the employees, we try to make them feel that we are a big family. At Tatore we consider that interpersonal relationships are very important to create networks and achieve success. Success arises from the sum of several forces, and people play a fundamental role in this. On the other hand, the quality of the product and the fact that it is a homemade product was undoubtedly one of the things that quickly helped us get people to comment on our products and expand the name of the brand.
Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I have a degree in economics and a postgraduate degree in marketing. I did the beginning of my career in large corporations such as British Petrolium, IBM and Coca Cola. Over time, my grandfather passed on my entrepreneurial instinct to me. And then I studied a career as a pastry chef to be able to professionalize my first business. Without a doubt the road was not easy. I started my life as an entrepreneur at the age of 25 and being a woman it was not easy. Everywhere I went, they paid attention to me, but luckily my grandfather taught me that you have to know all the processes. And little by little I showed everyone that I was a trained person, but above all, with a great desire to grow. Seeing, nowadays, that my brand appears in magazines or that big brands hire my catering services gives me enormous satisfaction.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Today Miami is a city that is expanding and luckily we have a wide variety of things to do. In the case of restaurants, for me the ones that you should not miss are: The Surf Club Restaurant, Boia De and Mandolin Aegran Bistro. But nowadays Miami is not just restaurants, there is a diversity of things of general interest, without a doubt I would visit the Design District and have a coffee at the Dior Cafe, then I would stop by the Wynwood area to take photos with the different murals and not far from that area, I would walk through the little streets of Brickel, until then have a coffee with some delicious cannoli at Casa Tua in Brickel City Center. Finally, I would go to the surfside area and rent some bikes and ride along the beach until I reached Smith and Wolensky in the south of Miami and there I could enjoy dinner with a view of the bay.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
for sure my grandfather , Salvador Guarracino . He tought me the importance of effort and perseverance in work. My grandfather in times of frustration, which by the way for entrepreneurs are many, he always encouraged me to focus on my goals and not lose strength.
He was a great example for me. Since I was a girl I have seen him work, and even though he was already a man dedicated to his work (his company managed to have 30 stores) he always worked alongside the employees.
My mother was also a person who really taught me a lot. I got a lot of the entrepreneurial spirit from her. But above all, it taught me to be an independent woman and to focus on my goals and know that if I don’t make the effort, no one will do it for me.
