We had the good fortune of connecting with Alana Taylor and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Alana, let’s start by talking about what inspires you?
I really dove head first into my photography career once I became a mother. I am inspired by a mother (and father’s) love and commitment to their family. I was listening to an educational course recently and they really honed in on the fact that photographs honor the legacy that you come from. I want to preserve the raw, joyous season of life you are in that your children and grandchildren and generations after can look at and feel the love. Feel a connection to the ones who came before.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I am a natural light maternity, newborn and family photographer. My favorite thing to photograph are the raw, authentic, chaotic and beautiful season of life each family is in.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
A trip to Palm Beach is a must – a stay at the Breakers is always fabulous! If you are traveling with littles, there are so many great museums from Palm Beach to Miami. The Ice Cream Club in Manalapan is a must after a long day relaxing at the beach!

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
There have been so many people on my journey supporting me. Family pushing me out of my comfort zone to start my business and fellow photographers along the way who have answered countless questions and mentored me from the beginning.
