Meet Albert Fernandez | Custom Automotive Specialist

We had the good fortune of connecting with Albert Fernandez and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Albert, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
The answer is in the question itself…’Starting’ that’s the key. Whether or not you can begin doing something is almost as, if not as important as what you are doing. From my experience I’ve met a lot of people who want to start a business but the ideas never seem to materialize into anything beyond that. I’m a big believer in learning from observing other people rather than learning things the hard way, so I wondered why that was. Why these seemingly good ideas only stayed ideas, my conclusion was that to have a chance to win the race you need to be in the race. So if you build a wall of excuses why you cannot do something it can obscure your vision and you won’t see some of the resources already available to you. I asked myself a few questions Is the service worthwhile and can you get it out there? Yes
Can you get out of bed to work hard for little to no money initially? Yes
Be accountable and resourceful? Also Yes
Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
My company is called Mancave Vinyls, it is a custom automotive shop primarily dealing in cosmetics. I believe we are different from other shops simply in the amount of services that we provide Tints, Ceramic Coating, Paint Protection Film, Color Correction and color change vinyl wrap. I’m most proud of the limited time that me and my team were able to build everything to running conditions and have been meeting deadlines even with unforeseen circumstances. I got here through hard work and dedication, we are still relatively new though so have to keep pushing for our bigger objectives and streamlining processes. It’s not easy but what’s the point if it was? Haha Challenges are good because they make you find solutions to problems you haven’t faced before. I’ve learned that when challenges arise the best way to overcome them is to give yourself time, walk away from the problem for a bit if you can, coming back to it will let you see it with a fresher set of eyes and help in addressing it. I want the world to know both the brand and story are only in the first chapter, so stick around it’ll be a good read.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
The beach of course! Morning run on the beach to stay healthy and kick off the day. In downtown Fort Lauderdale there are a couple restaurants that never miss. Bangkok Bistro is one, also Temple street eatery, just close your eyes and pick from the menu you can’t go wrong. Las Olas for the night life, but Hard Rock Casino has some really cool things going on in Davie too.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I’m blessed to be surrounded by amazing people that support my endeavors always. I don’t want to make a laundry list but my sisters, my mother of course, Jermaine, Noel, Steph, Jeremy, and of course my wife Angelica. Everyone around me pushes me to do better and be better, I don’t always have the strength/motivation in me so I know I can always lean on them for good advice and to get me focused when life gets distracting.
