We had the good fortune of connecting with Alejandra Avilés and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Alejandra, what’s the most difficult decision you’ve ever had to make?
One of the most difficult decisions I’ve made was making cakes in different shapes, flavors, colors that I haven’t tried before. And surprisingly my clients loved it!. incorporating new elements to my edible decorations, Using elegant ingredients. Also offering flavors and fillings that maintain the Venezuelan tradition but are pleasing to the American palate.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
Professionally it is a path that I am still learning. There is a lot to learn about pastry. I love studying and learning from Latino pastry chefs. I want to specialize in cakes for events such as: weddings and quinceaneras.

I studied to be a pastry chef in my country of origin Venezuela. but I am always taking classes with different pastry chefs to expand my knowledge. Although I graduated as a journalist for many years ago, today I can say that I am a pastry chef who bakes with passion so that my clients can enjoy an authentic and traditional homemade flavor.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Without hesitation I recommend my friends to go hike and see -Devils head lookout – Lake Isabelle – Isak Heartstone at Breckenridge – The Broadmoor Seven Falls. Colorado is a state that offers impressive landscapes. there are many beautiful places to admire in the mountains and around

Also I Recommend to my friends to visit places like: Barcelona Bar Restaurant -54thirty Rooftop – Hapa Sushi Grill and sake bar

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My family and friends have always been there supporting me and they are my number one fan! So they deserve more than just a little credit… they believed in me since La nana’s cake was a dream and have been walking step by step with me always by my side.

I have Venezuelan friends who call me every week to enjoy my desserts, since it brings back memories of our country.

My family is my impulse and my inspiration. they are always applauding and complimenting my designs.
