We had the good fortune of connecting with Alejandrina Aguilar and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Alejandrina, where are your from? We’d love to hear about how your background has played a role in who you are today?
I was born in Mexico and lived there until I was 11 years old. I come from a very humble background. I started working at the age of 5 to help my family with the bills and that experience impacted who I am today in more ways than I can even explain. That part of my life taught me what hard work was like and to truly appreciate everything I had.

Then, moving to the US meant leaving behind everything and everyone I knew, learning an entirely new language, and pretty much starting a brand new life. It was a complete change of life that was as equally exciting as scary. It didn’t take me long to realize how much my mom had sacrificed to bring me to the US, and I knew I had to embrace every opportunity that came my way and make her proud.

What should our readers know about your business?
a. We offer professional IT Services to other businesses here in South Florida. What sets us apart is our focus on customer service, security, and having a proactive approach to servicing our clients.

b. I am proud throughout all our years in business (almost 6), we haven’t ever let a client down. Our clients trust us completely and that is the biggest accomplishment of all.

c. A combination of hard work, dedication, positivity, and community is how we have made it this far. Being a business owner is a roller coaster, so maintaining a positive attitude and being resilient has been crucial to getting through the ups and downs. At the same time, making sure we are playing an active role in our community has also helped me create a business that is not just based on providing a service, but also giving back and helping all our local organizations gives our business a higher purpose, one that pushes you to keep going.

d. Owning a business teaches you many lessons, more than you’d ever thought possible. You learn a lot about yourself, your team, life, goals, dreams, it pretty much changes your entire life. I would say one of the most important lessons is to always stay grounded and maintain a healthy work-life balance. As a business owner, you tend to devote all of yourself to the business, and learning how to balance your life can be tricky and requires a lot of self-awareness. Another big lesson is to be resourceful and to learn to delegate. Sometimes you want to have control of everything and do it all, but that can easily lead to wearing yourself out. It’s important to delegate and remember that you simply can’t do it all. Hiring other professionals and learning to trust that not every little thing needs to be done by you has been a wonderful lesson as a business owner.

e. What I would want the world to know about my company, is that we strive to be exactly as our name states, stellar! I want all our clients, our team, our associates, and everyone we encounter to have a stellar experience with us. Also, as a woman that came from a difficult background, I want to inspire other women and minorities, that with hard work and determination, you can truly achieve all your goals and dreams.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Wow, living in Miami makes that a tough one as there are so many places to visit, one week might not be enough!

– Monday I would start off the week by taking a quick one-day trip down to Islamorada in the Keys. Visit some of the local shops, maybe join a charter for fishing, and catch a sunset dinner at Islamorada Fishing Company.

– Tuesday, breakfast at Threefold Café in the Gables followed by a visit to Books & Books, then spend the rest of the day exploring Coral Gables stores and ending at Merrick Park and having dinner at one of the restaurants there.

– Wednesday, I would take us to Fairchild Tropical Botanic Garden and Matheson Hammock Park for a full day out in nature.

– Thursday would be for science and art, spending the day at the Frost Museum of Science and PAMM, the Perez Art Museum. On the way home I would stop at Bay 13 Brewery to end the day.

– Friday would be brunch at the Rusty Pelican, followed by an afternoon exploring Wynwood Walls and maybe meeting friends for happy hour in the evening.

– Saturday would be saved for a day of tanning in Miami Beach and having oceanside brunch anywhere on Collins.

– And Sunday, I would end the long week of fun with a late lunch at Monty’s in the Grove, for some yummy seafood and a walk through the marina.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My immediate response is of course that I owe everything I am today to my Mom and my Grandmother who raised me, but professionally, I have to give the credit to my amazing husband. He has been my absolute rock since the day we met, many moons ago. He has been there for me without hesitation every step of the way and has always believed in me. Having a partner in life that not only sees your potential but makes sure to remind you of it any time self-doubt hits has definitely been the secret sauce for me. I am eternally grateful that the universe put him in my life.
