Meet Alejandro Celedón | Periodista y creador de contenido

We had the good fortune of connecting with Alejandro Celedón and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Alejandro, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
Let me share a bit about myself. My name is Alejandro Celedón, and I'm a journalist and
content creator. I was born in Colombia, and when I was very young, I moved to
Venezuela—the country where I grew up and launched my career. I earned degrees in
Advertising and Social Communication, with a specialization in journalism. Over the years,
I've worked as a radio producer, copywriter, magazine editor, broadcaster, and content
creator. Since 2018, Miami has been my home—a vibrant city where I first arrived as a
correspondent for major Venezuelan magazines and web portals. I´m also the creator and
curator of @asisevivemiami, an Instagram account dedicated to showcasing the best in
Miami´s entertainment and cultural scenes.
My business was born out of my creative spirit and an intrinsic need to express myself and
communicate. Ever since I was a teenager, I knew I wanted to be a journalist—I loved
watching television, whether it was news or entertainment, and I became obsessed with
reading books and magazines, often devouring entire issues from cover to cover. Although I
still work in traditional media, I was eager to adapt to modern times and embrace social
networks, which have dramatically transformed the way we connect. Instagram opened up a
bold new channel for expression, and I seized the opportunity to share my passion for
Miami—a city that has warmly welcomed me for seven years. On my account,
@asisevivemiami, I explore not only the allure of its beaches, shopping malls, and bars but
also its ever-expanding cultural scene, featuring everything from tourism and gastronomy to
the vibrant artistic community.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I believe one of the things that sets me apart is my strong work ethic. At times, I’ve had to take on roles within companies that went far beyond my official job description. I was the editor of a magazine, but I also had to write interviews and feature stories, serve as webmaster, and even work as a community manager. In the end, I think it was a positive experience—it allowed me to discover more about myself, my capabilities, and gave me the chance to learn and grow.
My professional path has been quite versatile. I studied journalism, and even before graduating, I was already working as the radio producer for the station’s most popular show. Shortly after, I began working as a magazine writer and, within a few months, was promoted to editor. At the same time, I also began working in media campaigns and public relations.
One of the experiences I value most is having been a journalism professor at the same university where I studied. It was an honor to share my knowledge and experience with young students.
With the rise of social media, I made the decision to stay up to date and learned everything I could about it. Today, I manage the Instagram account @asisevivemiami, which is dedicated to sharing information about entertainment options in Miami—including cultural and artistic events. I believe this focus on culture and the arts is what sets my account apart from many others on the same topic.
Today, we are a community of more than 55,000 people.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
There’s so much to do in Miami. The beaches are an absolute must. I’d start by taking him to the beach right across from Ocean Drive in South Beach—not only for the sand and sea, but also to show you the artistic beauty of the Art Deco District. Other beach stops would include Sunny Isles, Surfside, and even the nudist beach at Haulover Park.
Culture and the arts are essential, too. I’d take you to the Pérez Art Museum (PAMM), The Bass, and the Institute of Contemporary Art (ICA). We’d also visit the Miami Design District, where the streets are filled with art, fashion, and design. Another must-see is Superblue, a place that offers interactive and immersive art experiences.
Of course, no visit would be complete without enjoying some nightlife—music, drinks, and dancing. I’d take you to Ball & Chain on Calle Ocho, Zey Zey in Little River, El Maní in Doral, and LIV in Miami Beach.
As for food, I’d guide you through a world of flavors:Argentine cuisine at El Club de la Milanesa in Midtown, Mediterranean dishes at Sufrat Grill in Doral, Colombian empanadas at San Pocho on Calle Ocho, Pasta at Piegari Ristorante in Wynwood, And of course, the unforgettable cheesecake at Madame Olivia in North Miami.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
If we’re talking about being thankful, I have to give thanks to several people in my life—people who have believed in me even more than I believed in myself, and who have supported me during very difficult times. I think they’ve been like angels in my life.
I feel I must give very special thanks to my maternal grandmother; she was and will always be the most important person in my life. She gave me all her unconditional love, took care of me from a very young age, and taught me to be a good man—honest and respectful.
As for books, I really enjoy reading. My favorite author is Gabriel García Márquez, a Colombian writer and Nobel Prize winner. His novels and short stories accompanied me for many years. I also enjoy reading books about journalism—reports, chronicles, and interviews. The works of American journalist Gay Talese are among my favorites.
