Meet Aleksandra Sheveleva | Expert women hair stylist

We had the good fortune of connecting with Aleksandra Sheveleva and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Aleksandra, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
I began my professional career, as many do, by following in my family’s footsteps and becoming a lawyer. But after a few short years of feeling unfulfilled in the legal field, I realized my heart was more drawn to beauty and fashion. It was a difficult decision to make, but I knew deep down that I needed to pursue something that truly sparked my passion.
In 2009, I made the life-changing decision to follow my heart and enrolled in one of the top cosmetology schools in the world. That was the beginning of my journey into the beauty industry, and it wasn’t just about gaining skills—it was about creating a space where I could connect with people, bring out their confidence, and express my creativity. Starting my own business wasn’t just a career shift for me; it was the fulfillment of a dream to build something that truly felt like mine.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
My business is all about helping women feel their best by tailoring every cut and color to their unique shapes and tones. I specialize in blonde highlights, balayage, and the fashionable new Air Touch technique, among other services that my clients absolutely love. What sets me apart is my approach, which I like to call “part art and part science.” It’s about blending creativity with technical skill to achieve results that truly enhance each client’s natural beauty.
I’m incredibly proud of how my business has grown from my deep passion for hairdressing, and the trust that my clients place in me to help them look and feel amazing. What excites me most is the personal connection I get to build with my clients and the joy I feel when I’m able to create something that makes them feel confident and radiant. Each day brings new challenges and opportunities to perfect my craft, and I’m truly grateful for that.
My journey started in 2016 on Daniel Island, South Carolina, where I found a supportive, welcoming community that truly values my style and expertise. Charleston’s historic charm and inspiring environment were perfect for me to grow both personally and professionally. In 2024, I decided to expand my business and opened a new location in South Florida. This was a big step to serve a larger, more diverse clientele while maintaining the high standards of quality and service that have always been the core of my brand.
Building this business definitely hasn’t been easy. Like anyone in the beauty industry, I’ve faced challenges—whether it’s learning to manage a growing business, balancing a packed schedule, or staying ahead of trends and client expectations. But with each challenge, I’ve learned to adapt, stay focused on my vision, and push through with patience and dedication. The biggest lesson I’ve learned is that success doesn’t happen overnight; it’s about consistently delivering high-quality work, maintaining strong client relationships, and always striving to improve.
What I want the world to know about me is that my work is more than just a career—it’s a passion. I’m lucky to do what I love every single day, and that enthusiasm shows in every client interaction and every service I provide. I’m excited about the future of my business and the opportunity to grow, expand my team, and continue offering top-notch beauty services to people who value quality, creativity, and a personalized experience.
Ultimately, my brand is built on a foundation of trust, artistry, and a commitment to excellence. And I’m excited to continue building it for years to come.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
If my best friend were visiting, here’s how I’d plan the perfect week in Miami:
We’d start by checking into The St. Regis Bal Harbour and enjoy a casual lunch at a chic spot in the Bal Harbour Shops. After shopping, we’d have a fun evening with tapas in South Beach.
The next day, we’d have a beachfront brunch, explore Lincoln Road Mall, and spend the afternoon at South Beach. For dinner, we’d enjoy fresh seafood at a Miami classic.
We’d explore Villa Vizcaya, then have lunch in Brickell and visit Wynwood Walls in the afternoon. Dinner would be an upscale American spot with creative dishes.
For a relaxed day, we’d start with a beachside breakfast and enjoy the day at The St. Regis pool and beach. Later, we’d catch the sunset at South Pointe Park.
A visit to Coral Gables for breakfast and shopping would lead us to Little Havana for Cuban culture and food. We’d finish the day with dinner by Biscayne Bay.
We’d spend a day in Key Biscayne, bike around Bill Baggs Cape Florida State Park, and enjoy a riverside Japanese dinner.
On the last day, we’d brunch at a trendy spot, do some last-minute shopping, and end with a beautiful Miami sunset before heading home.
This mix of relaxation, culture, shopping, and great food would make for an unforgettable Miami week!

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
A huge shoutout goes to my family for always encouraging me to dream big and trust my path, even when it didn’t make sense. I’m also deeply grateful for my spiritual journey and the wisdom from the Bhagavad Gita and my Guru. The teachings have helped me listen to my heart, trust my intuition, and find the courage to follow my true passion.
I’m thankful for the mentors, peers, and clients who’ve supported me along the way. Their trust and guidance have been key to my growth. And, of course, the books and resources I’ve relied on have shaped my mindset and resilience.
