We had the pleasure to speak to Alessandra B, the creator and founder of Self Sacred and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Alessandra, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
I realized from an early age that there was no place where I could express myself and learn about ways to cope with anger, stress, and anxiety. I longed for a place where I could be free, learn life skills, create friendships and connection. To understand life outside the regular school format.
I wanted to have a space where I could connect with my world, with nature and with myself. Creating Self Sacred gives that opportunity to others. With Self Sacred I can offer growing children and little ones new doors to explore themselves, and the world. With Self Sacred I can help create healthy minds that can express freely and openly.
Self Sacred can give the opportunity for children to learn about who they are in the world. Parents can learn coping skills to everyday problems such as anxiety, everyday stress, life lessons, and more for their children, family and even themselves. With classes that stretch and diversify from kindness, emotional regulation, and community to Botany and Chakras.
Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Self Sacred is founded on the ideals and principles of all forms of Holistic Health/Wellness as well as mental and spiritual wellness. Our goal is to expand the minds and hearts of young ones to explore fundamentals of life that embrace the discovery of themselves and others.
We offer classes based on overall Holistic Health/Mental Wellness which include Yoga, Mindfulness and Meditation. These classes contain many aspects of learning and discovery such as, STEAM learning, SEL learning, grounding, breathwork, fine/gross motor skills, social and communication skills, health & body image, language development, freedom of expression, working with elements in nature, self-esteem, group/solo work, memory, strength & flexibility, working with the arts, coping tools, and SO much more.
Our focus is to make mental wellness fun and easy to learn. To create a space where children, teens and now parents can open up and release stress, and anxiety. We work with children who have ADD, ADHD, OCD, anxiety, anger, early trauma, and we work with children on the spectrum.
We have recently introduced our new virtual options which allow us to reach more families out of Miami. We now have One-on-one parental coaching and our new parents corner where we gather and discuss topics on holistic mental wellness.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Miami, FL has many amazing spots. I would start of the day getting some brunch at Earls in Dadeland mall. Of course, stop for coffee at Brewing Buddha, then make our way to Key Biscayne beach. Maybe rent a kayak and explore! We could also take a stroll through my favorite place Vizcaya Museum & gardens before finding a delicious meal around coconut grove.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Many of my personal experiences has let me to this moment in creating Self Sacred. To assist others in many aspects of Mental wellness that I as a child did not get the chance to learn. I know that many children and parents can benefit from these tools and connections that Self Sacred provides. My mother has also been a driving force in my dream of opening and creating Self Sacred. Growing up, my mother made many sacrifices for us and seeing her strength and courage gave me the building blocks to step up and push through to my dreams. Her continuous support inspires me to be greater and aim higher every day.
