We had the good fortune of connecting with Alex Anders and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Alex, every day, we about how much execution matters, but we think ideas matter as well. How did you come up with the idea for your business?
The idea for my business came up when I first started getting into DJing. It was hard to get gigs and to get my name out there, especially with how saturated the DJ market was in Miami. So I decided to create my own opportunity and an opportunity for the artist community; thus creating my hospitality business “Rebel Hospitality Group” and my record label “Rebel Society”. The goal is to use my business as a tool for artists who are on the come up and to create events where the underground has a chance to shine.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I Am a DJ and Music Producer born and raised in the beautiful city of Miami, FL. I’ve been djing for the last 8 years and professionally for the last 4 years. My forte is Techno and Tech House, being in Miami I’ve also had to learn how to dj Afro House and Latin Tech House. One thing that sets me apart from others, is that I’m always in competition with myself and never with others. I am where I am today because I did the things other artists didn’t want to do. Endless opening sets, going b2b with DJs who I’ve never even seen play before, playing genres that I’ve never played before. I knew that if I did the things that others did not want to do, it would set me apart from the others and benefit me in the long run. By now, all of it has PAID OFF.

Of course, non of this came on a silver plate. Every step of the way I experienced situations where I almost wanted to quit. Situations where I was really questioning myself, thinking if I was on the right track or not. Constantly experiencing setbacks from life itself. BUT I COULD NOT QUIT. QUITTING was never going to be an option. I used all my problems as fire to help push me to become a better person and a better artist as well. I want the world to know that if I am out here making my dreams a reality, they can also do the same thing! Forget about what people say or how people look at you. Forget the rumors they may create or all the negativity they throw your way. GO AFTER YOUR DREAMS, Believe in yourself

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Miami is FILLED with fun things to do and eat. I’d take my best friend to south beach to have breakfast at Big Pink before heading out to the sand to get our tan on and be in the water sipping on some margaritas. I would then take her to the spa and we would enjoy a 1hr session of hot stones and massages to then get ready for a night filled with dancing. Once that finishes, we would head back to our hotel room at the W to get ready to go to Space Miami. Space Miami is Miami’s number-one electronic club and personally one of our favorite clubs to go to. I wish I could write out a whole week’s trip here because there is so much to do in Miami with my best friend. All in all, if you needed confirmation to take a trip to Miami or have a staycation in Miami, DO IT

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
There are so many people I want to thank including God. An even bigger thank you to my special person, they know who they are. To my close friends who have played a big role in my success with djing and with hosting events. To UNKWN, Pilos, Racket, Mad Club, and all the clubs and organizations I’ve worked with. Forever grateful for the love and support I get from all of them and from everyone I didn’t get to mention here.
