We had the good fortune of connecting with Alex Jimenez and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Alex, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
The reality of what I had originally thought in doing was a strategy of marketing to being able to create and identity and connection with the public, allowing me to bring together a community and being able to learn from them as well. At first, I had to learn on how to work with social media and participating in many courses to learning the life of becoming a fashion influencer. I have always been one to observe others that inspire me and had the same passion as I do with fashion. I take notes on how they worked to improve and receive recognition on what they do and wear and from that I creat my own vision and style on how I see it fit for me.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I dedicate myself to creating content for brands on my social media, and I have been doing this for 2 years. I would say that the reason I am where I am today is discipline. When I lived in Nicaragua, I loved fashion and creating content, but I never had the means to do it. When I came to this country, I started a YouTube channel, but I didn’t dedicate myself consistently to it. It was two years ago that I really took creating content on social media seriously because I knew from a young age that this was what I truly loved to do.

It wasn’t easy at all; there were moments when I felt like I wasn’t getting anywhere, and I even thought I was wasting my time. But I never gave up. I learned to have patience and how to better promote my content to attract and connect with people.

Going through this process also started to inspire people around me to want to achieve their goals. They felt motivated when they saw me, knowing that if you have a dream and truly feel it in your heart, no matter the obstacles, you should always go for it to make it happen. One of my goals is to inspire others on social media that if you can dream it, you can do it.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
One of the places I love the most is going to food trucks. I love food and trying new places, and food trucks offer a variety of food from different countries to try from. Here in Miami, they have recently become a trend to have a taste and post your meal. I highly recommend going to these places because, most of the time, you have a great time.

I would say one of the places I would take someone to visit is Wynwood because you can find everything there, lots of art everywhere. Many things are happening in that place, and there’s always something new and interesting to do. Just like the beach—I love lying down with a margarita, enjoying the day, and being super relaxed. I would definitely recommend doing that if I had a friend to show around.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My partner is very important in my life and story, she was the one who motivated me to do what I felt so passionate for, she was actually the first person whom I told about my plan to becoming a content creator,I did not have the courage to tell any one due to rejection. she has always seen much potential in me and supported me from the beginning, she never judged and in the moments where i felt hopeless with no vision of what my life could be, she was always firm and honest about me never having to let myself down.

She also has her own small bakery business where we support eachother mutually everyday in learning and doing what we love most and for that we compliment each other well as a team.
