Meet Alex Pellegrino | General Manager

We had the good fortune of connecting with Alex Pellegrino and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Alex, the decisions we make often shape our story in profound ways. What was one of the most difficult decisions you’ve had to make?
When it comes to having a business, specially a small business, changing the mindset is crucial in order to succeed. Working during holidays, after hours, weekends and so on… it is something we had to accept and internalize to make our hospitality business work. Moreover, we don’t have a specific trade, you can be the gardener today, the housekeeper tomorrow, and the IT guy the next day.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I am willing to stay on track no matter what, to motivate myself until the goal has been achieved. Also, “failure” is experience, we have to be eager to fail in order to succeed, in other words, eager to gain experience to reach the top. When you are an entrepreneur and business owner, you learn and develop skills you though you were not capable of. That taught me to find the way to learn as many things as I could, not having to depend on third parties is good. Sometimes is necessary, but most of the times is money well kept that will help to keep growing the business. Stay focus, one step at a time, keep it simple, be always grateful, happy and be a leader. A person who show you the path and support you until the end.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
The everglades, Trader Joes and Whole Foods (it’s fun), Hollywood Beach, Oleta Park, Morikami Japanese Gardens, Baseball and basketball game, Coral Gables, Vizcaya Museum, Miami Beach, etc…

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My parents are a very big piece on this art. My education/sport background allowed me to work hard no matter what. To be friend of “sacrifices” and to always exceed customer expectations. Work hard, play hard. Also, Robin Sharma (author) is a great mentor, his books helped me to be more focus and organized, and podcasts like “The School of Greatness” are very important to personal growth.
