We had the good fortune of connecting with Alexa Rosario and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Alexa, what is the most important factor behind your success?
You know how they say, “it’s not what you know, it’s who you know?” I actually believe that it’s not who you know, it’s who knows you. Too many people look at networking as an opportunity to sling business cards and that’s not it at all — it’s about building genuine relationships and caring about your community and the people around you.

What should our readers know about your business?
Pretty houses are just a part of selling real estate — the real magic is in community building. We spend a lot of time helping people love where they live, educating about South Florida, promoting local businesses and bringing unique experiences to you.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
One of the things I love about South Florida is if you really wanted to, you could spend a year doing something different every day and never repeat yourself. If you were coming to South Florida for a week, here’s my list of things you MUST do:

The Best Cellar: This is my favorite wine tasting place in all of South Florida. Richard, the owner has been doing weekly sitdown wine tastings there for the last 20 years. You’ll learn a ton about wine and make some new friends while you’re at it.
Brunch at the Breakers: There is NOTHING like having brunch here. The ambiance is incredible, the food is to die for and the service is even better. Not to mention, you’re stepping into a rich history given that the hotel goes back to 1896.
Dive the 1000 Mermaids Reefs: Our reefs are essential to our livelihood and are our first defense against waves, give us the ability to grow fish (so the baby fish have somewhere to hide and grow) and help to keep our oceans clean. The 1000 mermaids project installs sustainable concrete art installations that let coral reef grow on it which adds a unique personality to our reefs.
Visit the Sandbar: If you’re looking for a good time, head on over to the sandbar in Fort Lauderdale or Miami and you’ll meet new friends and get to enjoy our boating culture. Helicopter Tour of Miami: There’s something to be said about the beauty of having a birds eye view. By just getting a few hundred feet off the ground, you’ll gain a whole new appreciation for the beauty of South Florida.
Take the Brightline: Since we’re talking about locations all over South Florida, once it’s back up and running again (post-COVID), you’ll have to take the Brightline. It’s an incredible experience that makes traveling between the 3 counties a joy.
Checkout the Speakeasies: Speakeasies are hidden bars that are reminiscent of the 1920’s prohibition era. Unlike your typical bar atmosphere, speakeasies are generally private, upscale, have incredible craft cocktails and have jazzy music. I would recommend a few here but I wouldn’t want to spoil the fun of going to find them!
Sit on the beach during a full moon: While the beach is amazing during the day, locals know that the best time to go to the beach is actually at night. Grab a blanket and enjoy being kissed by the moon. It’s truly a site to see.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
There are too many people and organizations that serve South Florida to count so just to highlight a few:

My favorite service organization is Junior League — the Fort Lauderdale league is a women’s service organization that has been around for 85 years and has established some of the most impactful nonprofits that our community relies on today.
The Tower Club and the Fort Lauderdale Chamber are incredible organizations to get to know other people in the community and to stay in the loop.
And lastly, one of my favorite new and upcoming businesses is FitnessAtYourDoor. They send trainers to your door and it was such a relief to still be able to stay healthy during a pandemic.
