We had the good fortune of connecting with Alexander Bowles and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Alexander, what matters most to you?
My company and I value true love above all else. Love is the driving force behind all motivation and our company works tirelessly to provide positive encouraging honoring love to many couples throughout the Fort Lauderdale Miami area.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
what sets you apart from others? There are many companies that sell flowers, many that sell chocolate covered strawberries and macaroons and many that sell sex. Petal & Passion is set apart and has a competitive advantage because we are the only true Romance company in the area. We love the classic romance Chesters of sending flowers and putting rose petals on your loved ones bed and we encourage and provide ideas for amazing date nights. We offer city tours, romantic beach picnics and many other services and products that allow our customer to tell and show their loved ones they are truly appreciated. Petal & Passion Floral, Amenities & Events staff take our clients thoughts, inspirations and love as a starting point and then builds on and enhances them into timeless occasions beyond their loved ones wildest dreams.

what you are most proud of or excited About?
I am most proud that I started this company with only my brain in my heart and $100 to my name. I believed in the mission so much that the world needed a Romance company and someone to actively provide resources to show your loved ones that they are truly loved and honored. I get most excited about clients calling me up and telling me how surprised and delighted their loved ones were when they received out products and services.

How did you get to where you are today business-wise. Was it easy?
I went to the University of Utah for sociology and learned about people. I always wanted to own my own business and I thought knowing peoples needs what’s the best way to start. I then did some post graduate work at Cornell university in the area of strategic hospitality management. I love seeing people so happy and on vacation and working in hotels was a true pleasure to me. I started a couple small companies in my 20s and found some success in both companies. But you what you were truly seeing me do today is a product of the majesty of trial and the tortures of error. All the other companies I worked for and owned taught me much but I found that we are only truly happy when the mission of our work truly helps society, our families and our inner peace. It was not easy to start a company from nothing with very little funding and resources but the purpose of the company was so strong in my mind that my drive to complete my work and bring this project to success was heightened exorbitantly

What are the lessons you’ve learned along the way.
Follow your heart. Work hard on the projects you believe are good for the world even if no one around you is supportive. The people you were meant to serve will bring you all the support you need as you fulfill their needs.

What do you want the world to know about you or your brand and story?
In the most humble way possible, I could care less if the world remembers me. A teacher in college once asked my class, “can anyone tell me the founder of Marriotts first name”. About two people in the class raised their hand. The point My teacher was trying to make was to stay humble no matter how greatly we rise.
What I would like the world to remember about my brand is that Petal & Passion deeply cares about your relationships and will work one on one with you to make your special romantic moments even more special. Your hotel room for a day in the beach can quickly turn into a timeless romantic moment that will be remembered forever with a Petal & Passion.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Drinks at Joia Beach, A walk around Brickell key, Peruvian Dinner at La Mar, Graffiti wall art in Wynwood. Sundays at Kiki on the River. Art deco walk in South Beach. Deep-sea fishing leaving from Fort Lauderdale Beach. Kayaking on the Loxahatchee river with alligators. Light jazz, wine and charcuterie boards at Lagunappi. High fashion afternoon in the design District. And of course a private Petal & Passion beach table for dinner or picnics or even a private movie night is a one-of-a-kind experience. So many bars and restaurants and art and stores that will inspire your creativity and thirst to produce beauty in this world throughout Miami and Fort Lauderdale

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
First and foremost, I would like to thank my mother for always telling me I was intelligent, strong, kind and that I could do anything I put my mind to.

Secondly, Growing up in poverty I did not have many good examples in my personal life of notable male role models, so I would like to thank uncle Phil from the television series the fresh Prince of Belair. The way he encouraged his nephew and made him believe he could do anything was a true blessing to me.

Lastly I would like to thank my business partner Carlo Barrios for being my first follower and believer in the mission to produce strong relationships and long lasting marriages By providing them just the right amount of romance to show their loved ones how much they are loved.
