Meet Alicia King | Board Certified Pediatric Dentist and Owner of King Pediatric Dentistry

We had the good fortune of connecting with Alicia King and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Alicia, can you tell us more about your background and the role it’s played in shaping who you are today?
My family is of Cuban- Colombian descent. My grand father and father came from Cuba at a young age with nothing but the clothes that they were wearing in pursuit of living the American dream. I was raised in a household where hard work, dedication and love was evident daily. The perseverance that my family embodies is a reflection of who I am today. My grand father always played a very big role in my life, aside from teaching me to always be thankful for the opportunity to wake up every morning and live my dream of being a pediatric dentist, he taught me that laughter is the best medicine. My mother was a single mother, who raised three girls with the help of my grandparents, with out this tribe, I would not be where I am today, and for that I am forever thankful!

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
As a board certified pediatric dentist and owner of King Pediatric Dentistry, I am most proud of the memorable and positive experiences we leave on our patients. Day in and day out, my purpose and passion is to enrich the lives of children by setting them up for oral health success. What sets us apart from others is the personalized care and attention that we give our patients as soon as they walk in the door, they become family. The journey was not easy, but my family is my rock and motivation, when I would look at them, it would just give me strength to keep going and to never give up. I thank god daily for the life he has blessed me with and with the support I have been surrounded with. I hope to be a motivation to my daughter, Sofia (and her sister on the way!) just as my mom was to me.

What I would want the world to know about me and my brand is that I wear my heart on my sleeve and my patients are my family. I treat every kid as if they were my own and I do anything I can to make their dental experience one that they will never forget! You will even find me dressed as spider man, elsa, mario, luigi and many more through out my work days. Yes I do have a costume rack in my office and I love disney!

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
If my best friend was in the area I would take them to Zoo Miami, the Frost museum, and the Children’s museum of Miami. We get to bring our kids on this trip right? 🙂

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Aside from my family, my daughter Sofia, who made me a mother. Being a mother has made me discover strengths that I did not know I was capable of having. My daughter has been my greatest blessing, the love a mother embodies is something that is indescribable. Being a mother, plays a significant role in how I treat my patients, each as if they were my own! I love each one of my patients and do anything I can to make their dental experience a memorable one!
