Meet Alinor Mezinord | Doctor, Believer, and Athlete

We had the good fortune of connecting with Alinor Mezinord and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Alinor, we’d love to hear more about your end-goal, professionally.
My goal is to serve my community and make a real impact. I want to open a clinic that provides rehab, spine care, and pain management to help people improve their quality of life. Completing a fellowship in interventional spine will give me the skills to offer advanced treatments for pain and mobility. Beyond medicine, I’m committed to mentoring and doing outreach for the youth, showing them what’s possible with hard work and faith. At the same time, I want to maintain my own physical independence and keep growing spiritually. In the end, it’s about helping people live better while staying true to my purpose.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
My career as a doctor focuses on improving people’s quality of life through rehab, spine care, and pain management. I’m proud of my physicality and the number of procedures I can perform, but I never forget where I came from. Growing up in the inner city wasn’t easy, but it taught me to be resourceful, resilient, and to make the most of what I have. I also learned how to make unfamiliar places more comfortable and find commonalities among people from walks of life I never even imagined. Those lessons have helped me push through challenges in my medical training and multiply my success. My journey is about more than just treating patients—it’s about making a real impact and helping others live better lives.
I want the world to know that nothing is out of your reach. If the child of Haitian immigrants can find a way to be the doctor he always dreamed of, then you can do anything you set your mind to.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Day 1: Start with a visit to Little Haiti for culture and food, then head to Wynwood Walls. Dinner at Zuma for sushi and waterfront views.
Day 2: Spend the day at South Beach, grab lunch at The Beach Bar, and enjoy the nightlife at LIV.
Day 3: Visit Vizcaya Museum, then check out Little Havana and grab drinks at Ball & Chain.
Day 4: lunch at The Wharf, then relax at Coconut Grove.
Day 5: Road trip to the Florida Keys for snorkeling
Day 5: Catch a game at Hard Rock Stadium or FTX Arena, lunch at Espanola Way, then salsa at Calle Ocho.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I want to dedicate my shoutout to my village—my family, friends, mentors, and the incredible programs that shaped me, including Take Stock in Children, 5000 Role Models, SSS-STEM, CARE FSU, and Phi Beta Sigma. They’ve all played a huge role in my growth and success. Without their constant support, encouragement, and wisdom, I wouldn’t be where I am today. They’ve always believed in me, even when I doubted myself, and have pushed me to improve every step. They’re the reason I keep going and the true champions behind my success.
