We had the good fortune of connecting with Allan Tijerino and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Allan, can you tell us more about your background and the role it’s played in shaping who you are today?
I’m from NYC, L.E.S, downtown Manhattan, the projects. From two Nicaraguan migrant parents. Raised by a single abusive, neglected poor father who’s priorities wasn’t family and a mother who gave me up before I can walk. Discriminated base on looks, language and more. No hopes for nothing due to my negative environment surrounded by drugs Latin Kings, Bloods and Crips. No blood related family and living as a step child in my fathers new marriage. One year after Sep 11th 2001. I moved to Florida for a new chapter “School.” Attended University from 2004-2008 for my bachelors in Criminal Justice. By 2009 I accidentally started working in marketing and sales with American Express Business while waiting to be hired by the airport as a Director of Security in Washington D.C. Due to income purposes I decided to continue my career in marketing and sales with NBC Comcast where I have been able to meet business minded individuals whom has guided me to the correct path. As of August 2021 I no longer employees by the corporate world and own Latin Munchies Florida’s Grill in Tennessee. Yes, there were struggles, pain, abuse, tears, loss of hope, but with discipline and determination, I was able to beat the odds. There’s more chapters coming up……
What should our readers know about your business?
Today I own a food truck, a Cuban and Central American. The restaurant will be in works by the summer of 2023. Plans are to expand as many as I can handle along with real state.
No easy at all. This is technically my second truck. The first one was a complete loss. It was sized by the government and felt like my dreams was taken. Came back strong and educated and now I’m open for business.
The biggest challenges are the ones you’re not educated on. Understand and study the field and act on it. Each loss within the process is the next stepping stone for the next move. Learn and move on consistently with discipline. Just like going to the gym.
People are stuck with dreams and hopes and no actions. Can’t blame no one but yourself. Stop blaming others of your outcome in life. We all have a story. I believe in Law of attraction. Take risk and the more educated you are in that field, the less risk you’ll have.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I would take them on a weekend hangout. Most likely on a Cruise. A cruise has enough space to keep a group together with less entertainment and distraction. My friends normally talk about business, money, cryptocurrency, stocks, who’s down and who’s up and within ourselves, we challenge each other on business. Of course the cruise includes many healthy choices to eat that are included in the trip. Traveling is exciting because it allows me to discover new geography for future investments, since real estate is my next move.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Shoutout to Luis Perego Moreno founder and CEO of Skyline Community from NYC who has been in my life since the age of 16 mentoring me ever since.
Also, shoutout to Robert Kiyosaki writer of “Rich dad poor dad” who has inspired me to big ideas and finance.
Lastly, Les Brown and Erick Thomas aka ET both of my favorite motivational speakers.
