Meet Allison Calderon | Creative Business Owner & Content Creator

We had the good fortune of connecting with Allison Calderon and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Allison, what’s one piece of conventional advice that you disagree with?
“Stick to what works.”
While consistency is important, creativity thrives on innovation and experimentation. In the world of event decor and content creation, sticking to what has worked in the past can limit growth and originality. I believe in pushing boundaries, trying new designs, and constantly evolving to stay ahead of trends. Whether it’s introducing new personalization techniques, experimenting with new materials, or creating unexpected decor, I know that true success comes from thinking outside the box—not just following a formula.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I pursued an artistic and creative career because after having to leave the job I was previously at due to my pregnancy with my first, I tried to figure out what would be the next best step in making a career choice and how would I be able to work from home and still pursue my dreams. Creativity has always been a part of who I am. I’ve never been the type to color inside the lines—I love experimenting, pushing boundaries, and bringing new ideas to life. Whether it’s designing unique event decor or crafting viral-worthy creations, I thrive on the excitement of trying new things and turning imagination into reality. For me, creativity isn’t just a passion; it’s how I connect with people, celebrate moments, and make everyday things extraordinary. Choosing an artistic path wasn’t just a career move—it was a way to embrace what I love and share it with the world.
Although I’m creative, not every task or project has been easy and some requests take trial and error. Taking risks has played a huge role in my life and career—it’s pretty much part of the job when you work in events, design, and creativity! Every time I try a bold new idea, experiment with a unique design, or take on a challenging custom request, I’m stepping into the unknown. But that’s where the magic happens! Some of my best creations and biggest opportunities have come from taking chances and trusting my creativity.
Starting my own business was a risk in itself, but I knew I had to bet on my passion. If I had played it safe, I wouldn’t be where I am today—turning visions into reality, making events unforgettable, and sharing my creativity with the world. Risks keep things exciting, push me to grow, and remind me that the best ideas often come from stepping outside of my comfort zone.
I want the world to know about my brand and story is that being different and thinking outside of the box can be more profitable and inspiring than you think. I never realized that my hobby in crafting could be a talent that could change someone’s special day or event into something greater and unforgettable.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
One of my favorite places to take someone since it’s a lesser known spot is Ironside Miami. The food is absolutely incredible and it always feels like we’ve snuck away to a more intimate area of our city where you can slow down and have a glass of wine and chat about life. Other than that, I love spending time outside so I would take someone to Key Biscayne which is my favorite area to really see what Miami has to offer in terms of stunning ocean views. We could rent bikes and ride all along the key. I can’t like that the fashion girl in me also loves a great Sunday afternoon stroll at Aventura Mall as well.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My business partner Kat Saenz deserves credit and recognition for seeing the potential behind my creativity and talent and suggesting we create our Krafted Aesthetics business. It was the greatest blessing and I’m forever grateful to Kat for seeing my creativity as a powerful tool and the endless possibilities we could build together.
