We had the good fortune of connecting with Amanda Benavente and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Amanda, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
After graduating in the midst of the Covid-19 pandemic I was suppressed by the low job market, industries minimizing their employee pool, and companies going remote. I had always dreamed of being in the marketing department for an athletic/sports brand since I was a collegiate soccer player and had a passion in athletics and marketing- but I realized I didn’t need to search for an opportunity, I could make it myself. I decided to open By Benavente, LLC. because I wanted to put my creative, business-minded talents to work in Social Media. I had many internships that focused on digital marketing & social media so I was experienced in the field already- so this time I wanted to make the connections myself and work with companies directly helping them build a purposeful and engaging social media presence. I wanted the brand to be centered around me as a solo business owner because I felt that my personality and mind had a lot to do with how I executed my work. I am a bubbly, energetic, positive, organized, professional person and I wanted my work in Social to show that- hence why I say Social Media Management By Benavente (Me!). I really take every project as if they were my own and I have a passion in convincing people the VALUE behind brands and helping them break through the noise and share their story the right way!

What should our readers know about your business?
By Benavente is a Social Media Management Agency. Our brand helps small businesses establish or build their social
presence in engaging, purpose-driven, and design-centric ways.

We are here to help businesses in creative industries grow the
social media presence of their dreams.

To the core, our mission is to help companies find their purpose
and unique selling point and demonstrate that  online in an aesthetically pleasing & effective way. Social media is all about the way you connect with people so we want to help businesses make that connection in a creative, purposeful, and visually-appealing way.

I am so proud of how much I have grown as a founder and business owner, seeing my company grow in new ways through our messaging, design, branding, and clients. It’s beautiful to see how quickly one can elevate their brand and services by the experiences they consistently put themselves through! I am so honored to have grown accounts to 10k+ followings from a few thousand, increased audience engagement on multiple accounts to +100% , help client’s content go viral, and build authentic communities for my clients right on social media.

I want the world to know that I am a young female founder, who started this business at 22 years old, I had no idea what I was doing in the beginning but I just took every opportunity by the horns and committed to executing them successfully. With every opportunity, I learned, and grew to understand the point of what I do – to tell a brand’s story in the right way, creatively, through the platforms we use every day- social media.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Since I am based in Boca Raton, there’s no hiding the fact that I am very familiar with the area- there’s actually lots to do and if you were ever looking for a day itinerary with me, this is how it would look:

Wake up

Get acai bowls at 3 Natives or Playa Bowls

Take them to go and sit by the beach with amazing views of the ocean
After that I would take us on a little fun workout either at PitFitness my fav group class spot or to South County Park where we would play Pickleball!
For lunch, I would suggest that we go get sandwiches and raspberry iced tea at Tin Muffin – such a good local spot, or if you want more of an Italian sub spot – V&S Deli!

After that we could walk around and shop maybe go to Delray Avenue and visit the new Delray Market and shop the local boutiques there or go to the Boca Mall and hit some stores.

For dinner we could decide to stay in Delray Ave and go to the Wine Room and order some food and pour ourselves wine in their immense selection or we can go to one of my favorite Italian spots- Lynoras!

This would be the perfect day in Boca, in my eyes!

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My shoutout goes to my parents. Having parents that came to the United States when they were 8&9 years old, building a life all on their own, and giving me a precious childhood allowed me to blossom in the ways I have today. I love the Hispanic roots I was raised with, but I also am so proud of the women they raised me to be- confident, strong, determined, and fearless. These traits I carry with each and every day give me the ability to make meaningful connections, opportunities, and choices! I am so thankful for my Mom & Dad for always believing in me and for my brother who always put me first in all of my crazy dreams since I was little. I am really so happy that I have a backbone like them!
