We had the good fortune of connecting with Amanda Paez and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Amanda, alright, let’s jump in with a deep one – what’s you’re definition for success?
Defining success is a unique question and can vary from person to person. Success can be everything from personal achievements to career milestones. For me, success is closely tied to how I feel in my daily life. I ask myself whether my daily routines support my well-being and or am I taking care of my mind, body, and soul? This includes staying hydrated, getting enough sleep, exercising regularly, eating nutritious foods, and engaging in activities I enjoy, such as reading, biking, and taking walks on the beach. When I feel balanced and fulfilled personally, this sense of success naturally extends to other areas of my life, including my career, relationships with family and friends. To me, success is about harmonizing life’s challenges and experiencing a sense of fulfillment.
Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
What distinguishes us is our dedication to meeting the needs of each student. I am proud of the positive changes we see in our students- not just in their academic performance, but in their confidence and passion for learning.
I was deeply honored to have been recognized as the Best Tutoring Provider in Hollywood, Florida, in 2023, and in Hallandale, Florida, in 2024. These testaments show dedication and inspire me to continue pursuing and knowing I’m exactly where I am meant to be.
This journey has had its challenges, but I’ve grown by staying true to our mission, listening to our students, and their families. One of the most valuable lessons I’ve learned is the importance of adaptability. Every student is different, and being able to adjust to suit their needs creates success.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
If my best friend were visiting Hallandale Beach for a week, we’d kick off the trip with a relaxing day at Hallandale Beach. Starting with a morning coffee from Mystic Coffee, followed by the beach. For lunch, we’d have to go to the Cuban cuisine at Padrino’s or Gulfstream Park which offers a variety of restaurants.
Venturing into Miami, I’d take us to the Wynwood Walls to walk around and see all the street art. Lunch would be at Wynwood Market if on the weekend, or 1-800-Lucky is an Asian infused market vibe with different vendors, a local favorite. There is also Joey’s, Coyo Taco, or Bakan to give you a few. In the afternoon, we’d explore the Perez Art Museum Miami or Frost Museum and take a walk-through Bayfront Park. Then, we’d enjoy dinner at KYU or The Broken Shaker, both restaurants in Wynwood.
Balance is key! And a day of nature and relaxation deserves a visit to Oleta River State Park or Whiskey Creek Hide-Out for some kayaking or paddleboarding. Lunch would be a picnic, enjoying the serene surroundings. Heading back to Hallandale Beach for dinner at Tipsy Boar or Carmela’s (next door to one another) can’t go wrong with either. There are also plenty of other restaurants around such as Thanks to Harrison, Olivia, and Block 40 Food Hall has different vendors inside to choose from. Lunch or dinner for a sunset would be great at GG’s Waterfront, Le Tub, The Taco Beach Shack, ETARU, or you can walk the Hollywood beach and find something along your way. These would be some recommendations I would suggest creating good memories!
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
When I decided I wanted a career in teaching, I was 18 and sought a position as a VPK assistant at a daycare after graduating from high school. My first teacher was Mrs. Cecelia. Initially, I found her to be a little tough and stern. However, as the school year went on, I saw her deep commitment to love, respect, kindness, and instilling valuable manners in her students. I then knew, I was exactly where I was meant to be.
