We had the good fortune of connecting with Amy Hoerler and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Amy, what is the most important factor behind your success?
Not giving up. Keep pushing forward and surround yourself with people who believe in you and encourage you on your journey.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I’ve been working as an actress for about 17 years now and have learned over the years that acting—like anything else—has its ups and downs. Sometimes you work on amazing projects, sometimes there aren’t any projects to work on. During those times, I stay busy by working on my craft and looking for auditions.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I live in Palm Beach Gardens, and when I get visitors, I usually take them to Juno Beach (I love sitting under the pier!), grab lunch or dinner at The Dune Dog in Jupiter or Camilli’s Pizza in Lake Park, and pay a visit to the turtles at the Loggerhead Marine Center.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
This shoutout is dedicated to my husband Dan Schulz, my family, Adam Rifkin, Nikki Blonsky, and my mentor Burt Reynolds.
