We had the good fortune of connecting with Amy Tripp and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Amy, what habits do you feel helped you succeed?
Because I work in social media consistency is the main habit that’s helped me succeed. Things take time to build but this can be done gradually by making a commitment to stick with something. Also, being engaging with my social media audience has helped me succeed because it built the know, like, and trust factor.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
It was not easy to to learn astrology and become a professional astrologer. It took a lot of sacrifice and hard work, but for me it was fun. Once I joined social media I had a knack for it and did really well. This is what jump started my business. However, social media can quickly become toxic and the other astrologers in the astrology community bullied and spread vicious lies about me hurting my reputation and business. To overcome this I started collecting more client reviews and also standing up for myself and redirecting the narrative. I think my Masters in Social Work and my ISAR certification is what sets me apart from other astrologers. Most astrologers do not have degrees in counseling or passed any rigorous astrology exams.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
If my best friend traveled to Miami I’d take her to Soho House, Mila, and Fauena. I’d take her shopping at Brickell City Center and Bal Harbor. I would also recommend she come during Art Basel.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
So many people deserve credit for helping my a long in my journey. I have to thank my mentor of seven years, Johnathan. I also need to thank my business consultants and friends Doug and Gabe, and lastly the support of my family.
