We had the good fortune of connecting with Analicia Austin and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Analicia, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
I had the idea to start my business after getting some positive feedback from my friends and family regarding my artwork. I had no idea where to start after some research, I invested in the materials I needed, took the leap and launched my business on Etsy.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I have a background in journalism/communication and design; I’ve always been into the arts and the creatives. I always had my eye on starting my own business regarding something of that nature.

I never thought I’d take the leap in the middle of a global pandemic.

I was very hesitant as I launched my shop in in the summer of 2020. It was not easy, but it was worth it. I have learned sometimes you just have to go for it, and it is better to fail than not try at all.

My brand is catered to women, and is known for its vibrant and girly aesthetic. I draw things that girls and women can relate to and personalize to their taste.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I enjoy great food and cocktails. I would probably take the bestie to a couple of fun bars and dinners, and then the beach. I think the best way to meet people is just spontaneous conversations.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My family and friends, they really encouraged me to go for it.
