We had the good fortune of connecting with Andre Brown and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Andre, we’d love to start by asking you about lessons learned. Is there a lesson you can share with us?
Keep evolving and don’t stop. I like to use the expression, “Keep it pushin like grocery baskets. Get everything you need, want and desire, and then, only then, do you proceed to the checkout line.”
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
My art is my gift and one of my passions. Art has allowed me to realize the beauty and worth of who I am as and individual on this planet and the importance of expressing that beauty via the avenue of fine art. My initial intent in each masterpiece is to create a unique visual experience and story for each admirer. Each masterpiece has a written and/or musical artistic component that complements each experience. These experiences have evolved into a world of amazing art, connected in a web of beautiful stories. I’m excited to share these works with the world and proud to be a vessel to spread love via the vehicle of art. The path I traveled to find my passion has been a challenging one but beautiful. Patience has been my comfort zone and love has been my resting place. It has taken the love of my support system to overcome in times I have wanted to not pursue this passion. The most important lesson I have learned is to trust myself and there are no mistakes, just lessons. And love is the most powerful force in the Omniverse and I will allow love to spread throughout our universe with every work of art that is allowed to flow through my vessel. I’m Andre Brown, owner and principal artist at ARB|FINEART
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
So, we are in my hometown of Clarksdale, MS (The Delta). The birth place of America’s music and home to some of the greatest musicians to ever grace this plane. During that week, we will visit the historic downtown district of Clarksdale. Probably visit the blues spot Ground Zero and visit Red’s (one of the last true hole in the walls left in the world). Red may be outside on the grill or the grill master, old Skipper aka El Hundo, might have his world famous grilled chicken wangs on ready set! Probably will go hang out with my old buddies Tim and Wymon over at Gentlemen Nights to relax a bit and unwind. Definitely will take them to see the first all ‘black’ community in the United States of America, Mound Bayou. But on the way, we gone stop in Boogie Bottom, Lyon, Davenport, Rena Lara, Alligator, Merigold, Shelby, Sugar Ditch and Roundaway to holla at some of my old partners. We gone leave Mound Bayou and head to Delta State University in Cleveland, MS. That’s where I help captain the Fighting Okra to an NCAA Div. II National Championship during my senior year (great memories). We gone stop at Dodges on the way back to get some chicken wangs. While on campus, we gonna check out the BPAC and the Mississippi Grammy Museum which is located on campus. During the week, we gone eat some Hick’s hot tamales and tips, may stop at Abe’s to take a picture, grab some Rice Bowl. Get a hair cut at Toney’s Barber Shop and go hang out with Bump, Toosie Black and Red nem! I gotta take the world to the Delta! lol
