We had the good fortune of connecting with Andrea Gallo and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Andrea, how has your work-life balance changed over time?
When I started my career, I worked an 8-5 in the corporate world. I dropped my son off early in the morning for school with him usually being one of the last kids to be picked up. I often missed afternoon school sporting events, doctor appointments and more.
I eventually decided to leave my corporate job to become a Realtor. This would allow for me to create my own schedule with unlimited income possibilities and be present raising my children.
It was definitely a big leap of faith as I was used to a set salary and benefits, but I knew I needed to make a change for my children. They are my why, the reason I do everything I do. I pushed forward to build my real estate career all while making my own schedule. My work life balance is perfect now.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
My favorite part of being a Realtor is helping people. Every buyer and seller has a story, a life changing event that is either positive or negative. The fact that they choose me to walk them through their real estate journey is amazing. Are there days I feel like quitting? Sure, but then I remember why I started. I have learned to go the extra mile, it’s never crowded. Buying or selling a home is one of the largest financial transactions a person will make in their lifetime. I am thankful to be a part of it.
The support of my brokerage, Florida Homes Realty & Mortgage has helped contribute to my overall success. You can’t achieve anything entirely by yourself. Thank you so much! I am excited to see the final product.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
My best friend lives in NY. As soon as she steps off the plane, the smell of palm trees and warm weather always greet her. We hang out at the beach, stay at Margaritaville in Hollywood and soak up the sun. The evenings are spent dining out and shopping at Aventura Mall. Day trips to Everglades National Park for airboat rides, swimming with the dolphins at Miami Seaquarium and visiting with old friends are also on the list.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I want to dedicate my shout out, Robin Williams. She encouraged me to enroll in a 401k program, buy my first home, taught me about investing in the stock market along with being a great friend. I’m not sure I would be where I am today without her.
