Meet Andrea Lorena: Founder of FujifilmGirl

We had the good fortune of connecting with Andrea Lorena and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Andrea, can you tell us about an impactful book you’ve read and why you liked it or what impact it had on you?
One of the hobbies I picked back up during quarantine was my reading. I challenged myself to read about 2-3 books per week. I chose a mixture of non-fiction, fiction & essays. One of my favorite reads from the summer was “The Monk of Mokha” by Dave Eggers. The author tells the incredible true story of a young Yemeni American man who was raised in San Francisco and dreams of resurrecting the ancient art of Yemeni Coffee. It is truly a gripping adventure in which we learn much about coffee, but also vividly learn about the current civil war in Sana’a, Yemen. This book specifically had a huge impact because I could relate much to the main character, Mokhtar, who is also (like myself) immigrant who wishes to start their own company. Learning all about what it took for this young man to achieve his long-time dream was so inspiring, and something I think about almost daily.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
My business, FujifimGirl, at the moment focuses in commercial food photography. My main clients are restaurants, hotels, hospitality groups & media agencies in Miami, Florida. I think what sets my company apart from others who may be in the same field is my own personal attention to detail. I am always creating, and full of ideas, which I tend to bring to every photoshoot that I have. I believe an additional strength is that I love styling my shoots, which helps in creating beautiful sceneries and is super exciting to me. I love bright bold colors as well as dramatic style of lighting, which I feel like my clients can appreciate. I started my business five years ago, and thankfully it has been an overall smooth road! I am always grateful for my returning clients and love meeting and working on new partnerships!
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
A week-long trip in Miami Florida will consist of the following: Day 1: Relax & Unwind from all things travel by checking into my hotel, my favorite hotel would be The Palms Miami Beach. I would recommend to enjoy the first day at the Aveda Spa, following a relaxing afternoon on the beach. Dinner time, hop on over to 27 at the freehand, and enjoy drinks at the Broken Shaker. Day 2: Rent City bikes, and make our way to the mainland, spend the day exploring Downtown Miami including The PAMM & the Frost Science Museum. Continue the later part of the evening and ride our bikes to Jaguar Sun at X Miami. Day 3: Explore all of Coconut Grove! Start off with coffee at Panther, and shop at Books & Books for the current new reads. Take a walk around the shops, relax at peacock park, and have dinner at Ariete. Day 4: Its time to check out Little Havana! Spend the day walking and photographing everything, and enjoy Ball & Chain lunch. Go back to the hotel and enjoy the pool a bit. Night time calls for Brickell action! Bar hop our way around the bright city. Day 5: Wynwood Art district & Design district. Spend the day visiting galleries, local eateries, and indulge in a lot of shopping! Day 6: Time for water adventures in Key Bicayne! Rent Jet skis with friends and enjoy!

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I’d love to give a shoutout to my family, the entire Chang Gang, for their continuous love & support.
