We had the good fortune of connecting with Andreina Cruz and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Andreina, how does your business help the community or the world?
The Tiny Picnic was founded on that belief that sharing quality time with those around you is key to a fulfilling life. Our services aren’t just about the aesthetics. We want to help you disconnect from this digital world and connect with your loved ones. We want you to be the main character in your story and remember your special occasions fondly. We work with local artists to make your event shine, because we stand by our belief that building with others, strengthens the community.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I believe that my success is attributed to my ability to adapt and collect invaluable skills. To name a few, I have worked in Hotel Operations, Sales, Marketing, and Food and Beverage. I freelance with other creatives such as balloon artist and florists in order to understand the colleagues I work with. By constantly learning, I am humbled time and time again. If there is one thing I have learned it is that there is no shame in being a jack of all trades. In fact, I often celebrate those who pivot careers and understand that people were not meant to be ‘one thing’ their whole life. My brand is not just events, it is an experience. And what we offer is ever changing. Always growing. What we offer is memories that you won’t soon forget.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Lucky for me, I love to play tour guide. Like I said before, I am all about the experience. Let’s say it was my best friend’s first time in Fort Lauderale.. I’d take her to Rivertail for some delicious food, then we’d hop on the water trolley and enjoy Martini Mondays at Louie Bossies. We might take the kids to over to the new Wellby Park in Sunrise or the Museum of Discovery and Science. We would certainly take our husbands to some of my favourite breweries, Yeasty Brews, Lauderdale, and Gulfstream Brewing (We’d have to get their Pepperoni and Honey Pizza). And of course I’d take her kayaking on the intercostal.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I owe my continued success to my son, who has taught me more about myself than any one person ever has. He has shown me the power of trusting my instincts, judge of character, and to always explore new things. I thank my husband who supports me and pushes me to aim higher or low down when I need to. I have worked in various departments of the Hospitality industry for years, and I thank those who have mentored me along the way.
