We had the good fortune of connecting with Andreina Gallardo and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Andreina, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
Growing up around entrepreneurs and getting my Bachelors in a highly entrepreneurial school, there comes a moment when that influence & surrounding pushes you to reflect upon your own skills and passions, usually somewhere in the middle you can find a good business idea.
In my case, baking has always been a part of my family – Ever since I was a young, I was always in the kitchen with my mom, baking treats for my brothers and extended family. From very young, this has always brought me joy – joy in seeing that other person enjoying some recently baked cookies, cupcakes or any other treat, why? For me, it’s the first reaction that makes it, that initial smile. That’s what drives me, fill me with joy – and it’s the ultimate goal behind Le Petit, that every time you bite into our cookies, your smile and initial reaction is a positive one.
Some of my best memories were built around the food, surrounded with family and loved ones, enjoying delicious treats – and I’d like to keep on sharing this with everyone that tries our cookies, for them to say “Wow, this is delicious” and to have them share them with their loved ones, and hopefully we’ll be able to bring a bit of happiness to their lives and a long lasting memory – that’s why we count the memories, not the calories.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I graduated from the UNIMET, back home in Caracas, Venezuela with a Bachelors in Business Administration. Interestingly enough, this is where the entrepreneurship bug got to – baking has always been my passion, but this is where it all started.
It wasn’t easy, as it was overwhelming to find that balance between studying and baking. I was able to get great support from friend and family that allowed me to study and still chase my passion.
When I moved to Miami, this process of adaptation started again, but a lot more difficult – I had to balance my 9-5 job, baking and getting used to my new city. It still gets difficult some days, it’s definitely not easy.
It requires a lot of effort, time management, prioritization and even more passion. Some days are rough, but when I see my clients smile when they bite into a cookie and feel their happiness, it makes it all worth it.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
In my to do list I will definitely add: – Have brunch at Bistro Cafe
– Visit the Perez Art Museum
– Check the Vizcaya beautiful gardens
– Have lunch in Mister 01
– Walk in Brickell City Center
– Have some drinks in Sugar and take a look at Miami
– Go to Wynwood walls
– Have some Salty Donuts
– Have some drinks and food in 1-800 Lucky
– Go to the beach
– Of course have some Le Petit Cookies!
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I think my family, my friends and everyone that believe in the Le Petit dream deserve a shoutout, because they’re the reason why we keep growing, getting better and achieving our goals!
